Mallyx teleports Outside?

Last night when we were doing mallyx, we all pulled as close as possible to the door. I think someone used a shout or enchant or something and mallyx started teleporting all of us left and right. The problem is me and a bunch of other people (usually 2 at a time) would be teleported OUTSIDE of the room's closed doors so it would be us looking and trying to get inside but we couldn't. Can mallyx do that? I thought he teleported to somewhere random in the room not outside closed doors where we can't run back it. Then he would teleport us inside again randomly it seemed. I have screenshots at home but I just thought this was weird and had never happened to me before. What's going on...

The skill he uses states he makes everyone shadow step to a random place however they seem to work like a teleport. If hes close enough to the door when using that skill it should be possible for him to teleport you outside. And if he used it again you would appear back inside.

Oh ok so that's not a bug or anything? anyway to avoid that? I heard someone say if you just equip a shield without a weapon he won't teleport you. not sure if it's true. was kind of weird because I couldn't do anything from the outside of the door.

yeah this use to happen to me when i did mallyx about 6 months ago not worht doing anymore. but anyways next time he tele's you try running far awy its pretty funnny, lol oncei ran allthe way to the start of city and then he tel'ed me back to him lol , ya i think its bugged,

Shadow Smash says it will shadowstep but I guess this isn't the case since shadowstepping can only work if you are able to walk right to that area. With the door closed it would mean you should no longer be able to access the outside.

The same goes with Summoning Shadows, again it says shadow step.

In which case the two skills have a description flaw and should say teleport. Nothing much else to it really.

yeah I"ve been teleported outside before, usually on the way to a /fail. It's actually the only time I've failed the mallyx portion, because everyone got teleported away except the monks and mallyx found them very squishy.

If your running ursan which im assuming you are. If you use ursan rage i beleive is the shout he will teleport someone in your party. Try running once without using that and tell me what happesn. Just from my observation that is what happens.
