This is kind of two posts in one... Anywho the first part...

I noticed this a while ago and had a wtf moment, then forgot about it. Have you ever noticed that Disease can spread from one of your "monster" heroes to you and other human heroes?

The condition summary goes "While suffering from this ailment, you lose Health over time. Disease is contagious between creatures of the same kind."

Can anyone explain to me why you can use rotting flesh on Charr, and have Pyre in your group, and he doesn't become diseased as well? Or if Zhed gets diseased and it spreads to you. Logically, it makes no sense. I understand why it has to work that way, but still retarded, imo.

And now for the second part...

My guild is extremely close. I recently flew out to meet one in person, and had a killer time. Have any of you actually ended up with a real life friendship because of GW?

EDIT: Also, why are humans taking damage when Zhed or Pyre die when Edge of Extinction is up? Why can you not give disease back to the person who gave it to you? Shouldn't disease keep spreading, unless everyone spreads out and it gets removed? Meh, my head hurts now.

good point... Would be nice to see this implemented, also, as for my guild, its just me and a school friend at the moment, in previous MMO's I have had good friends but it doesn;t seem that way in GW... anyway, I would have went to meet a few friends from a game I used to play (Anarchy Online) however I was like 11-14 so I could hardly fly to their countries.

3 of my guildies are RLF and every person in the guild has 1 to 2 people they know IRL our guild is made up of friends and family, And if I had the money to afford a plain ticket I would fly out to see a few of them.

As for the disease I have noticed that it does spread very strange and I have noticed many creatures that should not have disease on them do (immunity to it yet they have it on them)

Vekk won't catch disease from you. Nor will Zhed. I have no idea about them spreading it to you, but I've noticed they don't catch it from you.

Hmm. I've noticed otherwise. I do plan on doing a test when I get home.

Your observations are incorrect. Disease works as stated. I will spread from other charr to Pyre, if he gets close enough to them. It will not spread from Zhed to you. (Most likely whatever diseased Zhed recharged their skill and put it on one of your humans.)

Actually, this was changed a while back. Disease spreads between heroes as if they are human. Pvp reasons i would say.

Same. I was actually paying pretty close attention to it yesterday, making sure my party was reinfecting each other. Zhed's bar was never the same color as everyone else.

As for the second question. Sorta. I met them just before we all started playing and eventually we just always stayed together.

Non of my non-human Heroes spread disease that I have ever noticed. And I tried.

This was done with Zhed, Vekk, Jora, and Ogden.

Haven't met anyone from Guild Wars, but I did meet an old WoW guildie a few months ago when he moved into apartment a couple hours away.

I've met people that play Guild Wars, but never anyone I had previously known in the game. I don't think it's suprising to hear that I haven't met anyone in the game worth going to meet.

Zhed nor Vekk have ever spread disease to me. In fact, I pointed this out to my brother-in-law when we were on our way to Slaver's Exile, it wasn't just a rare instance, they never spread to us or our human heroes.

Maybe I'm just going crazy, but I know what I saw, we even stood right next to him when he got diseased. And yes, I'm sure it wasn't poison, it was full fledged disease :P

As for the real life friendship: I met someone in GW that lives in my town, we never really talked, but we ended up finding out we both go to the same school, pretty good friends now, if that counts :P

I've met one other guy in my dorm that plays GW. Don't think he's as hardcore as I am, but it gives us something to talk about occasionally.

I never met a guildie irl.
For disease, it seems a little strange. The non-human heroes never spread/got disease to/from other humans.

Well, looks like I was wrong [but not completely]. I did some gvg scrim matches with my guildie, had him cast rotting on each of the heroes separately, when we were balled up, and it didn't spread. Also did a test with Pyre in the Charr lands, I placed him in the middle of a mob, cast rotting flesh on the mob, he didn't become diseased. Also, I tried EoE. Pyre was below 90% and he didn't get hit with EoE when the mob was killed.

Sooo, it is bugged. Just not in the way I originally thought.

And looks like most of you have RL friends that happen to play GW, but haven't actually met anyone you met through GW. Can't blame you though, considering the GW population.
