12 treasures

i got a question for people that know about the 12 "hidden" chest in nightfall

i started doing this chess run last month on the 15th
so i got 20k and 12 gold items last month
did the run yesterday and got 15k some golds and some purples
so i need to know if i might need to wait longer maybe, to do the chess run

Wiki says the treasures will only spawn once a month....if you open the chests too early, you will know easily because nothing will drop at all. I'd say if you were getting drops and they weren't as good as last time it's probably just a luck thing.

I opened the one in Nightfallen Jahai last nite and got 3300 gold and a saphire, that was awful nice

each time you open them they get worse and worse. Soon enough you'll be getting 500g and a purple from each

People seem to be convinced that the more times they are opened, the worse the drops get.

I opened one last night and it said I owed it 2 platinum and a perfect Totem Axe.

Now you have to run all the way back out there and pay it, which sucks too.

I've only opened them twice, 6 months apart and my second time I only got 2 golds. bout 15k and the rest Purples and Saphire.

Some folks say its the ammount of time you play on one Character in PvE that effects the drops too, on top of the once a month thing. And I've just the one PvE.

Opening a chest is like strip poker: Every time you open it, you lose a piece of clothing. LOOK AT MY DAMN SEXY BODY!

I have also noticed that my characters who have yet to finish nf still get good drops from these (I have 14 characters working thru nf, they have not all finished it yet, heck 2 arent even past getting zhed yet!), I have some that are working on the last 2 missions (the gate of madness I believe, is a real pain), and as such have been taking their time working thru elona....everytime my necro has opened them she gets decent plat and a gold item.
Now on the other hand, my monk finished nf and the next day went to do the missions she hadnt done (didnt have magrid) and then went to the chest in dasha...only to get less than one plat and a grape! (she got just as bad from the last chest in the domain of ??? when she went to cap her monk skill that day as well...less than 2 plat and a grape!).
I have no idea why.

less lol I get around 200-400 gold and r11+ purps not sure when it will stop but im thinking next month It will go down to 100-200gold and all r13 purps. lol I have opened them to much with my main char.

u getting less and less gold, crapier and crapier drops, just like how anet runs this game, have fun

Anet told us that they work this way, in fact Gaile recommended opening the higher end ones first because of this. Further, if your characters are going to have access to them (my farmers aren't going to go any further than the spot they want to farm), I recommend *only* opening the higher end ones as I see no reason to degrade drops from opening a chest that I know is going to suck - especially the noob isle stuff).

Back when I was getting good drops from these things, the noob island ones weren't that much worse than the mainland stuff. The cash was a little worse, but still got max golds with decent reqs.

But that was then. Now I'm cursed to req 13 purples and 400g
