Dunno i usually go 2-3 hero monks depends on the area to make sure the team's health is covered, then i just leave the damage part to hench and myself, which, we do a wonderful job at.

Usually, hero monks are not that much of improvement over henches. Yes, running two hybrids could be neat, but you gain a lot more by using damage/utility heroes as those things are not covered by henches well.

Rarely I will use one - for the most part careful pulling and the two damage heroes I have is more then enough to beat everything. Using Hero monks doesn't remove the need for careful pulling, instead of death or end at 75% health with the heroes I choose the hench and have either death or 50% health at the end. As long as my health is above zero I don't really care.

There are a few areas that I now use three monks, while not truly needed it makes those missions/quests a WHOLE LOT easier. From time to time there is a need for a specialized monk build (for example, the fight against The Great Destroyer is MUCH easier with a specialized monk build).

I think I go overboard on monking in my usual team.

Me - Paragon with damage reduction and good DPS
Tahlk - SoR prot
Olias - N/Rt MM (to all those 'lol' comments it does work) with prot was kaolai and life
Xandra - Rt/Mo channeler with prot was kaolai, splinter wep, ancestors rage etc.

Then Mo, D or W, E, Me or P hench.

I use Tahlkora as a prot hero and the healing henchman for the area. Reason being that I feel most of the healing ai does a good job, but sometimes the prot (if there is any) is sometimes lacking. I also like being able to pre-prot myself or another hero should some kamikaze action be needed. As for my other heroes, I choose from Xandra (team support), Olias (MM or FoC), Zhed (SF) and Jora most of the time.

Hero monks tend to do a better job then real ones in my experience and I tend to use 3 in hard mode and 2 in normal.

eeps. I have to say I almost never use hero monks unless I am with another friend doing an area. I will use sab's or 2 para, or even 2 sf and a mm, then 1 maybe 2 henchie monks for reg mode never more than 1 henchie monk, in hm only occasionally 2 henchie monks

When I'm alone with hero/hench -> Hench monks, they do just fine.

If there's another human in the party, I prefer to bring the monks as I'm a warrior and I like to be sure the monks are nearby

if using h/h: never a monk if it isn't needed for the storyline

prefer to take Herta, Sogolon, Mhenlo and Kihm as henchies and some damage in my heroes (2x MM + Para/SS mostly)

I don't have decent Elites for Monks, so I go with henchies.

I always tell myself I need to go cap some Elite Monk skills, but never get around to it...

I almost always bring Tahl with me. I like having my own set of healing/prot skills rather than rely on the henchies' bars. Plus, you can flag them individually in strategic spots unlike henchies. Oh and you can see how depleted their energy is so you know when to rest and when to rush into next fight.

Hero monks are a terrible waste outside of a few HM places where you may want one.

The best use for your heroes is to exploit the mobs in an area 'til they beg for mercy, give you what they think you believe they stole, or you get bored of dumb A.I. You know what you'll be facing so you can tailor their bars with medical precision. Concentrating on offense with a few support skills, you and your heroes can make the hench monks look like superstars.

[Rant] I really hate how so many people play with an ultra defensive mindset. My last GvGs lasted either 4mins or 25 - no in between, ever. Making me waste so much time just to punch through your bitchwall defensive shell. Stop playing with your panties around your ankles and man up. Kill something.

I normally take one monk hero as a prot hero with one of my own better prot builds set up(not fond of most prot hench), A stright damage deal as a second hero then a more non-direct damage class, like a MM or a spirt spammer hero. (yes I use Xandra as a Spirt spam hero, and she dose a good job at it!)

different opinions, People like heroe monks, people preffer henchie monks, people preffer useless pug monks, people preffer a Guildie to Monk for them.

Me i dont trust any monk except my Tahlkora and 1 other henchie monk, try and vanquish GWEN with 2 henchie monks, LMAO, much easier with heroe monk, just give it a simple build the AI can manage, ruine it out properly and u have an elite healer that no PUG could ever keep up with.

I quite like taking a Hero monk, if only because I'm stalling till I can get hold of a good Necro.

This is the build I use on almost all of my hero monks:

[card]Word Of Healing[/card][card]Signet of Rejuvenation[/card][card]Reversal Of Fortune[/card][card]Shield Of Absorption[/card][card]Dismiss Condition[/card][card]Spirit Bond[/card][card]Resurrection Chant[/card]

Execelent monks are hard to find.

It's just me, too. Given a few other people my builds and they die.

Must be the way I move. Leeroy much?
