Reversal of Fortune same as block ?
Der_Pardner
while enchanted with ROF you wont lose health, right?
so it`s like blocking attack ??
so it`s like blocking attack ??
Flem
yea, bascially. except it heals you for the damage you blocked..
System_Crush
Almost the same, [skill=text]Reversal of Fortune[/skill] and [skill=text]Reversal of Damage[/skill] both say (maximum XX) going up to 84
If the attack does more than 84 damage only 84 of the damage is prevented the rest slips trough.
It is also unlike a block in that it stops ANY damage, not just attacks, be it a 160 cold damage [skill=text]Mystic Twister[/skill] from a level 28 dervish boss, or a 15 fire damage hit from [skill=text]fire storm[/skill].
Even the 15 damage expends the 1 shot you get from RoF.
It is also unbreakable, attacks like [skill=text]Forceful blow[/skill] are unblock able, but are still stopped by RoF
becasue it stops a max of 15...67(84) and works only once per cast, it is not as effective in countering a spike as blocking, but it is a good way to reduce the damage, and RoF actually prevents 2 hits as the first hit is prevented and you are healed for that amount fixing the damage of the the next hit.

didn't it work in a different way, such as; it stops damage up to XX and heals for that. so you would need XX*2+1 to actually "deal" damage to that target. --? at least i remember that's how it's worked (i never actually payed attention, i just know my stuff doesn't die)
else a non specced rof would be really powerful. but i dunno, i really never paid attention. oo my memory just tells me eles still deal a bit of damage to me, even with rof. Tab

System + Mokone are right. Washi is wrong.
RoF prevents damage up to the listed amount, and then heals for the same. Any excess goes through. Example: 60-point RoF, 100-point fireball. The fireball is reduced by 60, dealing 40 damage, and RoF heals for an additional 60. Net is +20hp. Washi
Are you freakin serious? O.o Ok I admit I'm not 100% sure now but I would die for it an hour ago lol.
You learn something new everyday Der_Pardner

@OP Point of clarity it most certainly isn't a block, so it will still activate when facing such buffs as: [skill]way of the fox[/skill]
And of course it is ineffective against vamp skills. Amazing Stroopwafel
Ofcourse it isn't block XD lawl
and if you don't believe me use [skill]seeking blade[/skill] or something you are just healed for the dmg that you WOULD have gotten (up to a certain amount) the next time target ally would take damage, that ally gains that amount of Health instead, maximum 15...67 ,explains all Khasar
If I read his post correctly I don't think he meant that it was like a block in the way that it stops the attack from hitting just in the way that it protects you from losing health from the attack.
Der_Pardner
i thought when u take 60 dmg then you lose 60 hp and RoF return your lost hp which is 60

I always assumed RoF negates the damage and heals up to the maximum amount listed on the spell. Well nice to know thats why the heal numbers didn't match up when I used it. Age

Life sheath is like super RoF, so it's like you're always blocking! So why would anyone run SoD when they can run life sheath! Great thread and inspiration!
