What do you refuse to do?

I refuse to warp out of a mission/area to save my survivor. That always seemed to be an exploit to me. Anet should make it impossible to warp out of a mission or explorable area for 5 minutes after taking damage or count it as a death if they leave within 5 minutes of the last time they took dmg.
On a side note, it does seem funny though that some of the people who whine excessively about nerfing ursan are some of the same people who condone in other threads to exploiting the travel/GH map (on a macro) to save their survivor. You'd think that these 'elite' people who would never use ursan and scream that others shouldnt either because its for 'noobs' cannot play their survivors without an 'easy button'.

It became consistently worse as the game aged and got to a truly ridiculous level once AB was introduced. Whether that is because I have had bad luck with finding mature PvP players or because the majority of PvP really is immature I don't know. I have my suspicions, however. Regardless, I find it frustrating to be powerless in the face of the taunting of children who are only swearing and digitally gesturing at me because they know that there will never be any repercussions for their actions. Rather than continue to subject myself and my blood pressure to such cowards, I simply choose more mature venues for gaming. I would note, for the record, that I have no such problems with LOTRO players and find them very pleasant to play with, even in "PUGs". |
A PuG in GW in PvE is generally immature and its the same with PvP, yet people find that surprising.

I won't grind, ever. I accept bounties when I'm going to be killing in an area where I can get extra faction, but I hate grinding and refuse to do the same mindless task over and over again -- something I thought GW was proud to have less of? -- just so Pain Inverter will be worth a damn.
I don't want FoW armor. Dervish obsidian looks kind of cool, but for the most part I think it's awful. Those poor mesmers.
I won't be your healbot. Sorry, but I've done it before, and there isn't much in game that sucks harder than getting bitched at by a frenzy wammo with a chip on his shoulder. My monk is a smiter, usually, and she never PUGs.
I don't charge for Consulate runs. If I'm going to the docks anyway, I'll let people in for free and just remind them that tips are appreciated. It's nice to get that extra bit of gold, but it takes zero skill and almost no time.
I won't spam for hours to sell something. As much as I enjoy this game, the trade system is complete and total suck. I logged in to play and enjoy, not spend hours in the city spamming WTS.
I won't join any alliance that demands a certain amount of faction a day. Especially if they don't even have a town.
I won't scam or cheat. Someone actually paid me slightly over my asking price once, and I PMed him to come back and get the difference. I know the login info for two of my guildies, including our leader. I've been given expensive items and rare minis, and returned everything without a second thought. Why yes, the view from my high horse is lovely, and thanks for asking.
I'm lax on other things, though. I see nothing wrong with Ursan or Sabway, and I don't curse at runners.

Curse You
I refuse to:
So they should call it the Boardstand next time?
Aw come on, hammering things with a caster is always fun.
- Do hero battles ever again (I did one, then decided no).
- Buy a weapon/armour based solely on the price.
- Make horrible armour combos for everyday use (Mask of the Mo Zing != cool automatically).

I refuse to pug, if guild or alliance won't come with I have H&H.
I refuse to do Team Arenas, I went there when I was learning to pvp, never went back.
I refuse to stand in town all day spamming WTS or WTB, if I can't get it find something I want or sell something within 5 mins I'll just give up & try again another day, I'm not gonna waste my playing time selling or buying.
I refuse to do certain pvp builds.

Generally
* Forget it's just a game
* Be rude to other people or loose my temper
* Do things that bore me
When playing GW "I don't" or "really try to avoid"
* Run/get ran (but I've walked & fought nice people for free across the desert)
* Offer service for money
* Trade in towns ( sometimes I buy when stumbling on something I want, but very rarely sell)
* Farm anything to get rich (I occasionally farm collectables for weapons)
* Kick a pug for having a bad build or being unexperienced
* Join a farming pug (but I like mission pugs)
To Pumkin Pie:
A goldsink is something in the game that is there mainly to remove gold from the players. Like keys, armour, Cap Sigs, Guild hall enhancements etc.

Things I never have, or no longer do.
1) PvE only skills
2) Display titles that give a bonus
3) Consumables (however I will accept others using party-wide consumables)
4) Traditional concept of 'Tanking' (I will fill this role as a warrior, but always focus primarily on damage output)
5) Use any piece of equipment (weapons, armor, ect) I do not enjoy the skin of (this means you Crystalline!)
6) Exploits (most notably those for skipping area's of the game)
Things I very rarely do.
1) Pug
2) Use 'cookie-cutter' builds

For the longest time I refused to grind titles that have an ingame influence.
I also refused to display those titles.
Then came my paragon and all of a sudden grinding that SS title didn't seem like such a bad idea.
I also refused to do HM - and then I did it a few times.
It still sucks as badly as I remember it.
So basically - everything I said I would not do - I did!
And it just made me want to quit GW.

The ever-increasing grind and the ever-increasing cheese-factor of the PvE titles is having the same effect on me as on upier.

Refuse to do something that I don't find fun.
Faction farming, playing a profession the way others think I should play, and PUG when every player wants to be team leader and runs off/commands everyone to do something different.

there really isnt't much things i refuse to do. i see people here saying:
no fow armor - i'm also against it and rare skinned weapons but main reason is because i cant afford it.
tanking - i do it from time to time.
pvp - i would try it more than anything but it so hard getting into some serious guild.
only thing i try to stay away from as much as possible is trading because i dont bargain very well (only when there is no more room in storage) and being rude in any way.
i just get the feeling that some things here that are mentioned frequently will get some bad status in game when there really is no reason for it(imho).
