Here is another screenshot were you can see that I killed all the guards inside the city on top of the wall. But since there were too few enemies I ran out of energy. (Time is around 20 minutes).
I have played quite a few days last week with your build and I had great drops (a couple of black and white dyes, lots of gold and many gems. I think only this week these runs got me around 150-200k but I played quite a lot though). And DOA is hot atm everyone seems to want to have a tormented weapon so you can sell those gems easily. A screenshot of a good run:
I brought a few heroes and flagged them at beginning just to use them when there are too few margonites, but I never got to it (after playing so much I kinda got sick of DOA . It would be a great challenge to be able to clear City with your build and some heroes (just for the part with less enemy for the energy). But I'll pass for now I am taking a break from DOA.
Once again great job, and thnx for the guide.

I've been running this build and so far it's been the best for me.
[skill]Stone Striker[/skill][skill]Obsidian Flesh[/skill][skill]Sympathetic Visage[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill][skill]Sliver Armor[/skill][skill]Aura of Restoration[/skill][skill]Mantra of Earth[/skill][skill]Kinetic Armor[/skill]
Visage drains the melee of their adrenaline so they have no way of using Magehunter's Smash and also deals extra damage with Famine.
Just make sure you don't stand next to the Margonite Rangers; otherwise they'll have no energy to fast Quickening Zephyr and you'll be screwed.

So, I've finally managed to get the hang of this build to stay alive, but I've
got another problem.. they simply won't die.
Most of the time I end up boxed in by 4 dervs and from there it just goes on until I get tired of it and quit.
Any hints on where I go wrong?

Try to get close to a monk, because he is healing them. Or use Sympathetic Visage variant and drain 'em.
Skinny Corpse
I've tried to move a round to get Sliver to target teh monks but no luck so
far.. I'll give the other build a go to see if me luck turns.

Mr.Kotte
If you keep Sliver Armor active for a longer time, it will eventually kill or make one of the nearby Melees run away, this need to happen twice. Once this have happened, Sliver Armor will target the monk (which should be around, as it walks out of the group when healing).
Also, this process might take a while, once took me 3 minutes just to get the monk down.

Well.. I'm back to dying all the time.. they're just too slow on getting QZ up
so I'm forced to recast enchants while it's down... utter failure.
O well at least I gave it a go.

O well at least I gave it a go. As said ealier to some other dude - AGGRO AT A DIFFRENT TIME! To find the right timing is the key to making this farm successful!

Check the first page and use BUILD 1, as it seems to be the easiest one to use.
It has anti-burning protection

So i've done this a few times and I can only seem to do the first large mob. are these builds not ment to do more than the first group or am i just doing a poor job of energy management and enchantment up-keep?

This build is capable of soloing just about everything before you enter the fortress in City of Torc'qua. I usually just kill the first 3 groups of enemies as they:
Only consists of 1 monk
Several rangers
Gives gemstones (duuh )

Yes this still works.
Huiboo
Might this aswell work wit a perma sin/ perma ele?
Dont see why not but i dont know to much about this area so i might be wrong.
Perma might (if it works) be faster than ur build since u can throw in some buffs for sliver armor.
Is this farm profitable anymore anyway?
What gems drop there (gems do drop there right?) and for how much can one sell them atm?
Sry if my language is bad im not native english but i hope u understand what im trying to say anyway

The dervishes have PBAOE so you would need a hero to survive, there are builds for this on pvxwiki. This, however, is the only build (atm) thats viable solo for elementalists.
The farm is as profitable now as it always have been, you get occational gems and lots of golds.
Margonite gems drop from Margonites (obviosly)

Well, while this build is novel, it really isn't cost effective for the time it takes. There are faster farms, but it's not a bad way to solo to get LB points.
TheDragonmaster
There's still one thing bugging me about this build: On your first page you say that you need rank 4 Norn. The peron that posted this on PvXWiki also stated that rank 4 Norn is needed. However, since it lasts for 16 seconds (and recharges in 15 with QZ up) at rank 1 Norn, this statement is a bit pointless, no? Since at the time you get it, you can cycle it constantly.
xxx wraith xxx
well easy to awnser why, the guide was written b4 the update on pve only skills to make them more effective@ lower ranks. So thats why you now only need r1 instead of r4.
~cheers, Wraith~

Been plenty of time to update, don't you think?
Mr.Kotte
The person who posted this on pvx wasnt me. The person who posted there basicly copy pasted my guide there.
I made this when r4 was needed, I'll change to r1 in the main guide..

I am aware of that, and had no intention of implying that it was so (however, the person who posted it on PvXWiki is guilty of laziness, since he/she posted it after the update (unless I'm mistaken), and didn't check ).
Mr.Kotte
If you use EBSoH instead of Frigid Armor it takes apx 5 minutes to clear everything outside of the fort. The spirit part is a bit tricky yes, you have to time the patrolling group that walks outside the gates of the fort.
Gangstnerd D
Great stuff, yea i took EBSoH instead of Frigid Armor and it went faster, not as smoothly but faster. Really great alternate for people that arent scared of their health dropping.
Thanks Kottis

well, I've been thinking about getting an ele, and this gives me yet another eason to do so: I've always dreamt of farming at DoA, and you certainly encouraged me^^ great guide, everything very well explained with screenshots (which helps alot). to sum up, you did a great, great job, IMO

Read the main guide properly. You need 20% ench and +4 for earth magic.
