I was wondering if botting in GW is allowed now..
When I went to Alltrumm Ruins today I took notice of around 200 Mo/Me's passing me within max 2 minutes.
Looking a bit over their names doesn't take a high degree in rocket science to see that they are bots.
Exactly like the case is in Bergen Hotsprings with the Mo/W's.
This is something that has gone on for a long time now, and still Anet doesn't seem to take any action.
I still remember the days where it was announced when 20.000 accounts got banned in DiabloII for botting.
Same as in many other mmo's.. but GW, when was it last time that Anet did a major account suspension?
I bet you will even be able to track accounts doing regular play on the same IP while others run bots.
If it is allowed to bot around, I would like that it gets implemented into the game, so I don't need to download it as a 3rd party app.

holy crap, I'm quoting Zinger
but QFTSeriously, bots are NOT allowed, don't use em, don't look at em, don't get their cooties. Conspiracy theories aside, Anet bans em but they're like gremlins, they breed when they get wet :P

Who says nothing is being done? Those places are well known.
But here's the trick. If you ban them, and prevent them from farming a certain place, they'll go elsewhere.
So why not keep an eye on the bots, but go after those that matter - the sellers. No matter how much money bots come up with, it's only worth something if they sell it. And by banning the sellers, money gets taken out of circulation, and bots have just spent x hours for nothing.
A few days back. There might be a thread around here.

Hopefully they're trying to investigate the network further, figure out who runs they bots and where all items and gold is stored. Although, I've quit reporting the bots and gold site advertisers after seeing the same ones still there a couple of days later. Banning by IP is useless since changing your MAC address only takes a couple of seconds.
