What Is Not In
StormDragonZ
What is something about Guild Wars you're GLAD is not in Guild Wars at all to begin with?

Death, I just rez when I die.

Kinda the wrong forum for this. Go to riverside to create a general discussion about the game thread.
This forum is more for people who need info about the game/are stuck.

moving to Riverside as this is not really a question.

when you die , you still have your weapons
Taurucis
A monthly fee. It greatly opens up options to other players (people who have budget issues, people who don't want to pay for a game they already bought, or people with strict-ass parents like me) instead of stuff like *dirty look* Whack the Failcrack. ¬¬

A gameplay depending on micropayments or an actual ingame-item mall.
Appart from that and subscibtion fees, I cannot think of something else I'm glad not to see in Guild Wars.

Flightmasters, slow boats, and zeppelins
(this is not a slam at WoW, really! )

Several things, actually
1. Monthly fee
2. Permanent death penalty (ie losing xp or something)
3. Not having to go collect armor and stuff off your dead body or you lose it
4. Slow methods of travel
5. Doing microtasks to play (ie cooking, chopping wood, sewing etc. I play a game because I DON'T want to do those things)

1. Fees
2. Permanent penalties for death (exp, lose gold, attributes go down)
3. Having to run everywhere (instead of mapping)
4. pk'ing / persistent zones

I have to second everyone who said they're glad for private instances and no monthly fees.
Kusandaa
- D2 death penalty system
- Monthly fees
- Sometimes I'd die for an instanced world (that awful player you JUST don't want in the party anymore)... other times I'm seriously glad it's not instanced. No spawn camping, no people who can come and steal your loot...

Weapons/armour/items that don't degrade or wear over time so as that you don't have to grind to renew your tattered stuff.
Ork Pride
Loot-scaling! Oh RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO nevermind.......
Honestly, small stuff like fee's doesn't bother me because I have the money and such.

Hard to obtain gear.

PKing is about the only thing, everything else if fun. But PKing requires me to die a lot and I don't really like that. Although I would love to PK the majority of you especially if time=skill. Because then I'd usually always win

Having thought about it, I guess the lack of monthly fee is actually top of my list. Not because of the money, but because a monthly fee is the only reason all those other MMORPGs are set up with an intentional carrot-on-a-stick design.
Things like permanent death penalties, sloooow travel times, and grind in general, are all symptoms of monthly fees.
MMORPGs with fees are intentionally designed to make you play as long as possible with as little sense of accomplishment and fun as possible, so you'll keep playing until you have a sense of fun and accomplishment.
GW breaks the mold, and it's nothing but good!
(I don't miss PKs, either.)

I'm glad that GW doesn't have:
1. Fees
2. Dire Death Penalties
3. I'd have to agree with the "music with lyrics" posted earlier
4. WoW fans (I've met too many of them around town and... THEY FREAK ME OUT!)
5. I'm glad it wasn't made by EA
6. Full nudity
7. Guns
8. Playable Children
9. Satan
10. Ferraris with jetpack upgrades
11. oh and Jetpacks
The first 6 were serious, but the game would be pretty weird with 7-11.
