Vanquishing Dreadnaughts, H/H

Requesting a build. I'm currently running this:

[skill]Dismiss Condition[/skill][skill]Zealous Benediction[/skill][skill]Gift of Health[/skill][skill]Reversal of Fortune[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Guardian[/skill][skill]Aegis[/skill][skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill]

Olias
[skill]Spiteful Spirit[/skill][skill]Reckless Haste[/skill][skill]Soul Barbs[/skill][skill]Barbs[/skill][skill]Insidious Parasite[/skill][skill]Envenom Enchantments[/skill][skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill][skill]Death Pact Signet[/skill]
+ Lina + Alesia + Orion + Dunham
Now, just by looking at these builds it is a given that I would not succeed in vanquishing it because I have no solid interruption skills, and Dreadnaughts is carrying two mobs of monsters, each with four Dolyak Masters. Excuse me but wtf r dey doin?
Anyways, I need an obviously better build... I don't have any primary Mesmer or Ranger heroes so if I do want to use either of those classes to shut-down the Dolyaks, they'll need to be entirely viable as secondary profession builds. HJELP

bring Jin or someone, and set her up with Broad Head Arrow and Epidemic. I'd bring that rather than Zhed. Just my opinion though.

That's probably a tough one to get done as a mink primary. A BHA hero might work but be prepared to micro manage the skill. In my experience they really dont use it well on their own.
Go at a time where Favor is up and get the blessing from the shrine in the southern portion of the zone, it'll help survive the longer fights.
If the BHA hero doesnt work out you might try a Power Block mesmer hero also.
Finally... you need more enchant removal, they like to cast mark of protection if I recall and that can be a bit of a problem.

ok i havent vanquished this one myself yet, but i would say kick the ele hero first. The Foes in HM have rather high AL. i nearly have the same party setup as you but take a paragon with DA, WY, and shields up. you can run a nice aegis +DA chain^^
On the MM bar change vengful and Kaoli for warmongers and Ancestors rage for extra damage and a nice interupt. You will need to micro warmongers, especially when you need it against those monks. Oh and change DPS for Flesh of my Flesh on this one
you dont want him suddenly dying and get all those minions over you.
The SS bar i would change soul barbs for enfeebling blood and envom enchantment for rip enchantment.
And Daze is really your friend so any skill that can daze is good. I run a paragon with spear swipe when i play HM alone + warmongers gives me around 20 seconds of solid shut down. which should be enough to kill things.
Lastly i would run a WoH bar instead of ZB

He might actually be better off fitting bit envenom and rip, at least... that what I did. Otherwise you dont have enough enchant removal.
I'm really not crazy about spear swipe. High energy cost and a 2 sec recharge... not to mention only mele range. Seriously if you can manage the micro (you know you can now map keys to hero skills) bring a BHA+Epidemic ranger.
Also as a monk you can possibly lay off the healing and let henchies and a hero handle it (the N/RT healer to complete your necro team). Bring yourself some KD via smite signets along with Echo + Tehcnobabble... that'll shut down the casters well enough. The BHA Ranger would still be ideal though because they can apply covering conditions.

Oh, let me make a list of my currently available heroes and their levels:
Zhed Shadowhoof (20)
Acolyte Sousuke (20)
Olias (20)
Master of Whispers (20)
Melonni (15)
Dunkoro (20)
Tahlkora (16)
Koss (20)
And until I can obtain a better graphics card to further myself through NightFall, this is about as many heroes as I can get. I'm sure I could Zenmai but she seems pretty useless for a job like this.

I only run Spear Swipe when i do things on my own
Its the only way i can bring defense and shutdown onto one character. Usually i vanquish with my friend and she brings margrid with BHA.
TekDragons idea of smiting isnt that bad imo. But if you insist on playing monk yourself( i know i do) Zenmai with Beguiling Haze is also a possibility.
But yeah paragon for added support with spear swipe+ slicening spearhead is still win.
But you dont have a paragon lmao damn i am slow xD
Your best bet will be going smite or zenmai with buguiling haze.

Ah yeah, so by the looks of it you dont have GWEN either with cuts you off from some nifty skills (and I'm not talking about Ursan, I feel dirty every time I use it).
At this point to put it bluntly, you need a way to shutdown those healers. The henchies are woefully inadequate for that task and you dont have the heroes for it either.
Rangers or Mesmers are the best at this, a Paragon or an Assassin might also help, or even a Ritualist with warmonger's weapon might help, and you have neither of those. Outdamaging those groups without caster shudown support is extremely unlikely.
So you're left with a number of not very interesting options...
-If you have characters of those classes I mentioned above, you might have enough skills unlocked to force a secondary on to one of your heroes (not very appealing but might work).
-You might simply have to suck it up and find at least one other Human player to vanquish with.
-Seems like you've at least been able to play some NF, maybe it sucked because you couldnt run the graphics right, but honestly GW is one of the least graphics demanding games in recent memory. I run it in windowed mode while playing movies full screen on a second monitor from my 2+ year old laptop. So... maybe you can figure out a way to play more NF and get more heroes.
-You might be able to work something out if you go to LA/Kamdan and buy some GWEN consumables, but I wouldnt recommend that. Without some good caster shutdown it might be wasted money.
That's about all I can think of for now...

I did DD without any trouble at all running Echo SS with Mark of Pain, Olias as MM and Master as MM with 16 death, and Death Nova. Tahlkora or Dunkoro as prot with Shield of Regen. Henchies were Alesia, Lina, Thom, Stephan. It all flows nicley as Spiteful Spirit does nasty damage and Thom, Stephan, and Minions trigger Mark of Pain, They also help to hold aggro. Then theres the added BOOM damage from Death Nova, it all works out to much more flowing damage that the healer AI can't compensate for.

That's 3 necros, our friend here doesnt have access to that right now. I could just as well tell him that I did it as a BHA+Epidemic Ranger with a tweaked version of the 3 Necro team. That doesnt help much either does it?

Hmm. a rather wild idea how but about using [wiki]Rend Enchantments[/wiki] and a few more enchant removal skills plus [wiki]Lingering Curse[/wiki] ?. Of course they will spam like no tomorrow but they're not healing that much for the duration (i do hope so).. Though you might have to rebuild an anti-heal necro and either leave MM out or the SS, tough choice.

I would attempt to further myself in the Nightfall campaign to unlock access to more heroes, however, quoted directly from GuildWiki, and directly applicable to me:

With Rip Enchantment, Defile Flesh, and any other enchantment strip these two mobs become much more manageable. With Defile Flesh up all they can do is MoP and it has an enormous recharge time making it easy to strip. Keep your Enchant strips disabled and wand the foes to know when MoP goes up.

Scourge healing, maelstrom, could have /me or /r heroes to do the interrupting, which usually doesn't require high specced attribs.
Norgu is available early in Vabbi, I think. What is your hw-trouble that prevents you from playing there? Can you play some parts at someone else's pc?

Try running the necros as mesmer secondary and bringing power drain and leech signet on them. I wouldnt bother with insidious or envenom enchants on the SS or vengful and protective on the MM. The same can be done with zhed, add some interupts.
I cant remember what i used when I vanquished there but it will probably have been 3necro heroes,2monk hench, ele hench, warrior or necro (i cant remember) hench and me as some kind of fire ele i imagine. I also tend to bring you move like a dwarf as a knockdown.

Hello
When i was vanquishing the southern shiverpeakes, i did it in one day from droks all the way to beacons, i use the following builds and team:
1(ME) Ranger w/ apply poison, Broadhead arrow(elite), sloth hunter shot, distrcting shot, lighting reflexes, troll ungent and rebirht.
2 Savanah heat eles(guild wiki builds)
1 Support Paragon (guild Wiki build)
2 henchie eles
2 monk henchie.
Careful pulling and aggro control are the key, you can substitute any your cahracter for any build shown here.

Update: I now have Vekk, Ogden Stonehealer, and Gwen as available heroes.
The catch: I just got stuck in Gadd's Encampment with "unrecoverable graphics driver error" because of my god damn Intel integrated piece of crap, similar to Wehhan Terraces. WOOT

Well, if the solution linked on page 1 of this thread didn't help you get past that glitch, all I can suggest is setting Gwen up as a Power Block mesmer. Your SS and MM would then be free to carry things other than interrupts in the "variable" slots on their bars - which reminds me that your SS should have Enfeebling Blood instead of Soul Barbs, Rip Enchantment instead of Insidious Parasite, and possibly Inspired Hex (to help you remove hexes, and so he can throw it back) or Envenom Enchantments for added enchantment removal. Also, as suggested above, Mark of Pain could help speed some killings up.
Honestly, though, I am surprised that you've made this thread. You seem to be in a relatively good guild; is there no one who can come with you and bring along the heroes you're missing?

3DAnalyze FTW. Saved my butt!
And yeah, GoE is a fantastic guild, but they are EU whereas I am AM. The difference in time-zone and in schedule makes it very difficult to co-ordinate things like vanquishing, as I typically play while they are asleep. Aside from that, I've had a few members tell me some horror tales of vanquishing Dreadnaught's and they mentioned they want no more part in it, which really I can't blame them for. It is a vile place!
Also, I still need to unlock Rip Enchantment and a few other skills that I'm interested in getting before I decide to go back. This thread has a lot of great ideas though, TY!

Lulz does someone actually have problems to vq this? I had 2 sf eles, 1 n/rt healer, 1 rt/n mm. I was another sf ele with ward of stability and wars agaisnt melee, others were heros. Hench were probably necro, ele and both monks. No one even died lol, easiest vq ever.

I'm glad it was easy with a party of 9. Thanks for contributing...
Thinking about trying to vanq from beacons and do lornar and dread... of course this means doing it with a party of 6.
I was thinking 2x SF/power drain E/Me's, Sabway Necros and BHA ranger, not sure if it's even worth attempting without a dedicated monk though?

In 6 man I take Sabs plus healer and warrior. The war triggers barbs plus gets rage love. What I would do is drop WoR for IV for that little extra but keep channeling for splinter or another rage (I put rage on SS vs Pure).
However from doing many vanq myself its a hell of a lot easier to caravan vanq from droks. Also from running sab's necros for a lot of vanq I prefer physicals for the rest of the party (minus two hench monks). Reason once again is barbs, splinter, and rage love. Plus a lot of HM parties can lay some serious waste to squishys.

1. Why would your eles need some crap power drain? That's useless.
2. Why to have bha ranger. Thats useless also.

necro = 1

both monks=2

But seriously, Limu...BHA + Epedemic = PvE is gone.
BHA is the most powerful skill you can ever hope to use in PvE.
@The OP - Zealous Bendiction is kind of weak outside 4-man teams, because the energy return can be prevented from another healing monk.

You are probably not a native English speaker. "Another" means plus one. If you meant you were one of the sf Ele's, posting something along the lines of "I was one of the sf ele's" would have said that.

Vanquished Dreadnought's Drift H/H (and Lornar's directly after it) yesterday. Used 2x Ne/me (mm), 1x Ne/me(ss) + Lina, Mhenlo, Eve and Devona and me being an ele (fire (Mind Blast) + Maelstrom).
Dreadnought's went okay, Lornars kinda sucked with the Grawl Crones carrying Verata's aura.
