New PvE Player and Missions in Pre-Searing Prophecies

I am new to this type of play and have only been playing about 25 hours I have a Ranger/Monk at level 8. I have several questions and I have searched the Wikis to get answers but have been left a bit confused. I am hoping I can get some straight forward answers here.

First--are mssions (not quests) available in pre-searing Prophecies with a PvE character. I do not see any mission markers on my map. If you only have time or desire to answer one thing for me please help with this one. I tried the Wiki's instructions to find the mission outpost for the first mission listed but I can never find the Squire who is suppose to get me started.

Second--Without missions available I am finding it hard to get more skills and level up.
For skills I go to an NPC looking for more skills but I keep getting sent back to the same trainers. Will they offer different skills every time I go back to the same guy?

Third and last for now--In trying to level up I have been farming/hunting but most foe are not giving me much experiance as they are low level foe. My area is from Barddin Estates to Fort Rankin and Ascalon to Green Valley including the snowey areas and the highest level foe I run into are level 3. I have been to Northlands (twice alone and twice with an ally) but at level 8 I am getting killed without end by the Char. I try to avoid them and fight other characters but the area I am in seems low on non-char foe. Is there more area available that I am just not getting too and can I get there solo?

Thanks alot for helping out an old man trying to learn new tricks.

No, there are no missions in pre-searing ascalon. There are a handful of quests that will get you skills for both your primary and secondary proffessions.

Level 8 isn't too bad a level to leave pre-searing. Some people are particually going after a title 'Legendery Defender of Ascalon' which is awarded for reaching level 20 in pre-searing.
However, in order to get to lvl 20 in pre you need to do a phenomenal amount of work.

Check the wiki and see if you have all the available skills for your primary and secondary proffessions, and then I'd leave pre and enter the big, bad, seared world.

Mission Guy is in Ascalon City near where you started when you first loaded in game, he should have green swords-and-shield icon rotating above his head if you solved all primary quests.

Thats how you get to first mission, it different from rest of game. After that you will be in new area where you can progress naturaly.

I've always left Pre-searing at level 8.

I have no idea why you are having problems with the Char unless you are aggroing too many of them at once. As a Ranger/Monk I would suggest getting a pet because they can keep the Char busy while you are doing Ranged attacks. Also, play around with the skills you have for your skill bar. If you are dieing it usually is because you aren't equiping the right skills.

yeah, i really hate the way people make titles.

this one in particular is misleading, as is the one about the double GWEN reputation points weekend.

You're supposed to leave pre-searing after a few hours, and start the real game. It's just a tutorial.

Death Leveling is stupidly lame, its not a part of the game when its not being used as a title so shouldn't be used to get something.

I dont mean this to sound sarcastic, but you do realise that "Pre-Searing" is a training area or starting area and you can leave there at any level you wish after just a few quests.

The real game doesnt start until you exit pre-searing, see the nice video animation and (I wont spoil it) things change drastically when you get to Ascalon!

Pre-searing only offers quests and not missions, because its only purpose is to teach you about PUGing, equipping weapons and armor and choosing your second profession and getting you familiar with skills and spells.

Once you leave there and start the real game you will get lots of missions and quests and you will level up A LOT faster!

If you're new you might not have realised that the starting part of prophercies is a training zone and its VERY small compared to what you reach once you leave!

There isnt much point hanging around pre-searing unless you like the view and want to spend hours reaching level20 there. Which I wouldnt recommend unless you have a lot of time on your hands. Leave pre-searing (there is usually a guy at the gate to speak to and he lets you move on) and get stuck into the real part of the game.

Thanks to everyone that replied even those who slapped my wrist for a bad title (rereading it I TOTALLY understand) and even the more stern "move on" replies are thanked. I am totally new to this type of game and wanted to be sure I did everything I should (evidently there is no should) before moving on. Special thanks to the suggestions to check the Wiki for a list of quests and skills to be completed and acquired (I did miss two). I will be moving on after I get some iris' for the tapestry (non-quest). Thanks again

Im surprised the www.guildwiki.net wasnt of any use in helping you. It should have listed all the quests, areas and NPCs for pre-searing and mentioned about moving on afterwards.

But if you need help, the best thing is to ask for it ingame in the local chat and people will help you.
