I'll just throw in my random ideas. Feel free to let me know how stupid, good, or interesting these are:
-Experience Boost Weekend (Earn 50% more XP in Normal Mode, Earn 100% more XP in Hard Mode)
-Elite Mission Weekend (Urgoz's Warren, The Deep, Domain of Anguish and Slavers' Exile monsters/enemies are lowered in level and attributes by 2)
-Merchant Kit Sale Weekend (All types of ID Kits and Salvage Kits cost 50% less)
-Guild Hall Appreciation Weekend (All NPC's in a Guild Hall sell items at 10% less than normal prices)

1/2 price armor weekend in Bone Palace, Elite Kurz/Luxon crafter (not sure where....); Divine Path, Rata Sum, Marhan's and Granite, Command Post, Eye Of the North, Gunnar's, and CTC. Everyone can get their freek on in nice armor.
Mini-pet weekend. Every outpost and town has unlimited minis in it. All the sellers and spammers in Kamadan can show off the fruits of their selling labors.
Kodash-stock: Horticulturist Hinon brings some of his Mehunukah plant for all to enjoy. Ingesting adds points to drunkard title; your character will "die" in outposts every 3-4 minutes unless character ingests sweets--which adds to sweet tooth title.
Puff puff pass emote added to game.
Seriously...dye drop weekend was all right. Some kind of anniversary / holiday in Kamadan to celebrate the fall of Varesh and Abbadon, and the ascension of Kormir would be nice to see.
