Official Wiki Vs. Guild Wiki
Sir Tidus
I found 2 major wikis for Guild Wars. One is the official Wiki, the one is called Guild Wiki. Anyone know which is better?
MrGuildBoi
I prefer wiki, but official wiki is more cleaner but adds lame, obvious notes to things.
Curse You
GuildWiki has been around longer and so generally has more information. I only ever use GWW for official information, such as updates or to look at Gaile, Emily or Izzy's pages.
Smile Like Umean It
The only time I use the official Wiki is to see if they've put update notes up when they're not on the main site. Otherwise it's all GuildWiki.
Zomgyogi
Same with me, I only use official wiki for updates & guildwiki for everything else. I wish they would change /wiki to guildwiki.
I Will Heal You Ally
GuildWiki has better notes and guides
farkas
I use both, but tend to lean towards the original rather than the official.

I use both as well, but not like most of people who replied here, I go for Official.
I only go to Guildwiki for armor.
Those that are in Official is lame.

Thanks a lot guys.

The original is clearly the best. Especially in the armour department. I love the compartment views and showing the dyeable areas. It's far superior to the official one.

I've been trying to mostly switch over the Official Wiki - it is the better updated one. The vast majority of the main updaters of the old Wiki (the ones that wrote the better information) are at the new one.
However the older one is more complete and I'm used to where I can find everything. The newer one doesn't seem to have as logical of a setup. It is getting better (it wasn't that long ago that clicking "skills" on the front page would have no link to where they had the actual list of skills listed, only a definition of what a "skill" was). I *hate* their setup to find which armors I want and it isn't even something I can "fix" (I can only add info if I so chose too and adding info isn't the issue).
For me, new information the official wiki, old information the unofficial one. As such anything pre-GWEN is pretty much on the old, post GWEN on the new. At the least if it is something more than simply looking at a skin (say, looking for a map or strategy for bonus\masters) I normally check both. They are different enough that I find this useful.

I stopped contributing anything to the old wiki. It sold off to Wikia. Selling a Wiki while talking a lot about legal issues with ANet before is kinda sad.
This said, I prefer the official Wiki. It has
+ much better design, no adds, better item images
+ better collector/crafter lists
+ less cool kids talk
It is also the place to look for updates and infos.
I just wonder what content the old wiki shall have more. It has some more articles, but the significant ones and guides are so much better on the official one.

I like GuildWiki more.
+ Skills always updated.
+ Notes under them are more helpful than those on official wiki.
+ Usually GuildWiki loads faster.
+ Armor and weapon dye guides ftw ;p
+ Normal guides, nice mission overlook and has more articles.
+ -||-, less red links than on official.

I prefer Guildwiki mainly because I find it has more information. I do alot of the weapon Dye Charts on Guildwiki, guess I'm not really helping if I don't upload them onto the Official one. But people will be people. Also I'm not familiar with the layout of the Official one, so I get lost :P

I switched over to the official wiki when it was first released...mainly do to the fact that Anet Employess post there...but now on Gaile seems to post so i have switched back to the guild wiki site. If the devs were to start posting as much as they did at the begining i would probably go back to the original...
But for GW2 i believe the official wiki will be better since they have already started on it

guild wars wiki is better for virtually everything. occasionally the pictures on official wiki will have a better angle or lighting. I guess thats useful.
Olim Chill
I always check both.
Jumping Is Uselss
I thought guildwiki was taken down. Can anyone link me to it?

I don't know how I could have missed this.
Anyway, it's a matter of personal preference. I personally enjoy the official one more, but I always check both if I need to be sure of something.
