Restoration Ritualists?

I like Rits, they are a felxible support class in that they can deal considerable damage with spirts and channeling magic, while also being relitivly effective healers. I'm currently looking at Restoration magic and I have a few builds in the back of my head, and I was wondering if I could get some feed back on them.

Question: Why is your spawning so high? You have no linked skills to it and only 1 spirit. imho, you should just cut down on it and up restoration and channeling.

Max Restoration, max Channeling is all you need. Spawning's not required...Life only lasts 20 seconds, so it's not like it needs the extra health Spawning Power inherently gives it.
Get rid of Generous was Tsungrai and take Protective was Kaolai
Get rid of Ghostmirror Light in favour of a weapon spell like Weapon of Warding, or Resilient Weapon.

You don't need that many heals, and high Channeling without Splinter/Rage is a waste. Also, Warding>Shadow.

The main thing is, I am going for a pure healing Rit, rather than a damage buff rit. I know splinter and rage are both efective, but I'd rather use more healing spells than anything.

You don't need more than MB&S and Spirit Light though. All healing skills do pretty much the same thing, so it's a waste of a skill slot taking more than the best two.

I believe this is for PvE, in which case Splinter+Life>Warmonger's+Bloodsong.

It is for PvE, but i have found it works well in other situations as well. It works well at Fort Aspenwood, decent in Alliance battles, and is fariyl good in RA. I've tested it before, just never posted it before.

You could put [skill]Weapon of Warding[/skill] and [skill]Vengeful Weapon[/skill] in there as some pseudo protection.
It's kind of a waste to spec into Channeling for only one skill.

My attribute distribution is either resto 16 or chan 16. But I can always dynamically choose which attribute to max AS NEEDED while out in quest or mission simply by switching headgear and handgear.
Perhaps, only recuperation and FoMF are replace from time to time.
Hope this gives the OP another idea and tweak it according to his style.

ibreak speaks the truth. You're not going to be a better healer than a monk thanks to prot, so why try? Play to your strengths, and run a hybrid. You lose almost none of your capabilities in restoration by shoving rage and splinter on your bar.

The logic behind carrying some damage skills (and rit having one of the best), is to DECREASE the fight time by third or by half.
Damage like 137 per 8-sec is nothing to sneer at and splinter weapon ((53 x 5) X 3) really shines when party is put in a tough do-or-die part.
Ritualist, I have learned long ago, rarely shine in protecting and healing the WHOLE party. Rit shines on protecting KEY individuals in the party, usually 1 or 2, maybe 3. This key personality shifts as the mission and play goes along, but usually its the tank and the monks.
Many times it's the fronliner, usually the tank, I watch out. If you going to baby sit the tanks with heals and some protection, why not throw in the damage, so it takes much less time to baby-sit them
My other job, as Rit, is to protect the MONKS, making sure I keep their health bar in acceptable level so they can do their job well without much distraction and waste healing.
Since many Rit skills are 2-in-1 package (MBAS - heal and removes cond; Weapon of Warding - protect and regen) and with very little use of energy, we can do the job well what would other cost much more energy and skill.
Who will protect and heal the Healer-Protectors? I guess it's the Ritz. Who will protect the Ritz? It's the Monks It's a sort of circular logic of protection at its best.
Playing Ritualist is not really difficult. What is difficult is realizing Ritz will always be regarded as "second fiddle". And that takes a certain type of ego and views to play Ritualist and enjoy the class.
