Quick question on supply / demand.

Example; stack 250 iron = 750g to merchant, selling iron to trader same price.

Does selling to merchant 'remove' the iron from circulation, or does the merchant pass the iron to the trader? Since the merchant does not sell the iron, what happens to that iron? Same question for runes, dyes, rare scrolls, etc.....

Can this be a way to try to push prices back up? (for those interested in higher preices)
