Okay.. i bought the game, installed it, and leveled up some times. Been playing it for about 2 weeks. And i was wondering, why does it just all of the sudden freeze? Itll be in old ascalon, ill be running around, getting a quest or buying items, and my pc just locks up. I ve never had this with any other game. My pc is extremely over-qualified for the game, seeing it is i have two Intel Xeon quad cores, 4 gb of ram, a quadro fx 4600 gpu, and a soundblaster x-fi. If its not hardware, is it xfire? Anyone who might know a suggestion to this please help.
Total System Lockdown.

Hmmm... not something with a graphics driver issue...??? since its a quadro it might have some difficulty gaming....
And even if you ensure its not the hardware... it could be overheating due to dusty fans or a failing fan... this could be a cause for system freezes...
apart from that, do a driver check... if that didnt help... let me know...

Why would you need a octo-core system with 4GB RAM and a Quadro 4600 graphics solution when you're only running XP pro? That system is designed for graphical design and high-end rendering rather than gaming both of which require a much better OS than XP. Incidentally, what Motherboard are you running that system from?
As said above though, if you do indeed have eight cores then you need to force GW to run on only one!

Well, since it's all relevant and he's seemed to resolve it - perhaps I can ask a question?
I was wondering this; I run two Guild Wars games on one PC at once, I'm sure most of you are familiar with this. So the question is, is can I set my ''Processor affinity'' for Guild Wars#1 to CPU 0, and Set Guild Wars#2 to CPU 1?
What would be the effects of that?

I had also the freezing thingie, especially during deathlevel sessions, now as dedicated to 1 core, i dont have the problem anymore!
So yesterday i started GW and set up another DL session, after 2 hours, it freezes again, i forgot to set it to 1 core.
Is is possible to start GW automaticaly dedicated to 1 core (core 0 or core 1 is no difference)?
This thread with these answers helped a lot, many thx.
