Depends on professions I would assume... but who buys cheap armor nowadays?

This would of been better in Q and A but I would say one is no better than the other although Tyrian you can put insignias on and Krytan you can't collectors anyway not the Faction versions.

I buy cheap armour too.
I only but 15k masks for my mesmer. The rest is regular Luxon, Canthan and Tyrian.
Like this set, my favourite one that I am almost always wearing in-game.

Aesthetically speaking, I like the Krytan armor better, across all professions.

I've gotten all of my Prophecies characters a max set of it, via collectors.

Though, the lack of inscribability is becoming a pain...which is why I've also gotten each of my Prophecies characters at set of at least 1.5k armor.

I believe truly breathtaking armors are combinations, which often involve the 1K armor versions (especially on arm and leg pieces).

My Male Warrior still wears this armor (with low AR sadly) and the Gw:EN crown.

Wyvern armor is so damn old school, I can't even express it. Ftw brotha.

That aside, I'd go 50/50 with each armor. Tyrian is wholesomely traditional, though.

I couldn't agree more. Combinations are best!

It does make me cry, however, when some narrow-minded soul asks me if I'm still working on completing my armor set.

NO! ^_^

Male ele Krytan armor was some of the best in the game for that class for a long while (15k aeromancer is a reskin... but really, I don't want that lightening bolt stuff all over it).

I died some old droks armor green, and everyone thinks its 15k.

I prefer older Tyrian armor for almost any class, but now I think Krytan takes the cake.

Thank you everyone!

Also, I've noticed that on the male warrior Tyrian armor, in between the boots and the "shorts" (the lower thigh to knee region) there's this blackish pantie-hose-like legging material. What is that? It looks kind of gay.

Well, as you can imagine, armor is kind of uncomfortable sometimes and the pantyhose really smoothes things out inside.

Male Tyrians are big on Musical Theater...

WTF does "looks kind of gay" mean? Do all homosexuals have a dress code now?

I like Krytan, just be sure to get it in Cantha so that you can inscribe it.

I think Krytan looks better than Tyrian for most professions, including warrior. It looks nice because its not trying to be overly flashy.

The female version of it shares some stylings with 15k aero as well. Ele isn't the only profession with Krytan armor that closely resembles more expensive sets. Monk's Elite Saintly is pretty much a straight up reskin of Krytan. And the female ranger's Obsidian armor has some slight similarities to the Krytan set.

My Monk is in black Tyrian (i think - the pre searing art) because it's the only monk armour I like.

One of Many [ONE]

Personally of the two I prefer Krytan - the overlapping plates on the legs and arms is slightly less generic looking. Though, personally as far as 1.5k armor goes (or I guess now 1k armor) they are my two least favorite. Like others I prefer to mix and match and since the normal stuff iis not able to added to your HoM I almost never use a full set.

If I had to choose (and I assume you have factions as otherwise the loss of insignias sucks too much to use) I much prefer the Shing Jea for male and Ascalon for female. Well, technically I prefer Luxon for both but they do require some more rare materials than the others placing them as "in between" armors - and luxon is my overall favorite non-ascended warrior armor (though I like both Templar and the Female Char Hide 1.5k's as close seconds).

Krytan doesn't have insignia slots when it comes from a collector. It can only be crafted (in Factions) with an insignia slot.

Techincally you can, there is an armour crafter I've come across outside of Sanctum Cay that crafts Krytan, but it's not max AL.

Oh I see, but if I get max I will get Templar and not either Krytan or Tyrian, so it's cool. So do collector Krytan armor have insignia slots? It says on wiki that less than maz AR collector armor have insignia slots. But I don't see any on my AR 27 Krytan armor. Does it tell u if there is a slot or not when u move ur mouse over it?

Try to add an insignia. That will tell you if there's a slot or not.

Haha, I purchased ele Krytan a few days ago.. it looks really good.. much better than aeromancers (and the central transfer chamber reskin).

I still prefer my 15k Kurz though

To answer the OP's question... I think Tyrian is better for all except elementalist.

I think that Tyrian looks better on elementalists (especially female), and on everyone else, Krytan looks better. But I guess it's a matter of opinion.
