Few More Noobe Questions and a Problem

Problem:
Okay I am trying to get the tapestry from Gwen in Pre-Searing and I have given her a flute, many flowers and unfortunately went and bought a cape. Now I notice she has the flute and cape and wiki'ed something about a tainted Gwen which I assume I now have. Is there anything I can do about this.

Questions:
Does the stuff I have (ie DYE) go with me once I go Post-Searing?

Is it worth bringing the DYE with me (easy to sell, get more money for it)?

Can my Post-Searing Character still chat with Pre-Searing characters and friends?

Can any one tell me what--or where I can find out what--the going selling price is for Black, White, Silver, Green and Orange dye now?
All my googling and wiki'ing is resulting in messages that are very old and prices that are out of date.

Finally in pre-sear are there any weapons that are stronger than white and blue (ie purple etc) and where/how is it/they obtained?

1) Yes.
2) Yes. Dyes are handy to keep.
3) You can Private Message them but you can't meet up ingame. Only once they move to post searing.
4) Black dyes are about 5-7k. White dyes are about 2-3. Silver is around 250. Green is about 110. Orange is 100.
5) Yes, there are - Purples or "Grapes", rares or "Golds" and unique items, or "Greens." You can get all of them from chests, but greens are usually dropped by named bosses. Rares and Grapes can also be randomly dropped by monsters.

Nothing disappears when you leave "pre-searing" for "post-searing".

Why wouldn't it be?

Chat is always possible via the "Friends" list, but you will no longer be able to go to "pre-searing" once you go "post-seasing" (the reason being that the Ascalon cities are different, you'll see why when you do it).

Price evolve, based on offer and demand. You should look at how much a [Dye Trader] gives you for each and sell them for 5 to 50% cheaper. It's very dependent on demand apparently.

Not sure about the last one, so I won't answer.

The stupid Gwen bug appeared with my new monk as well. Gwen already had the cape and flute and i wasted 15 red flowers on her. Well the rose focus looks better than the flute anyway and the demand on mesmer focuses isn't that high anyway...

Second post for me and like the first fast and great responses -- thank you to everyone who responded to all my "Noobe Questions".

Does anyone have any ideas on the "Tainted Gwen" -- if that is what it is -- problem.

I think the simplest thing to do, if you have a "tainted" Gwen, is to delete your character and start over. You can tell if you have the Gwen bug if she already has a flute and/or cape the first time you see her. I don't think it's something that happens later, so either she's tainted right away, or not at all.

Gwen is to the left of the exit from Ascalon City (as you go out). It may be a good idea to check that as soon as you go outside.

Even if you have already played some and gotten a few things, it's really not a big deal to delete your character and start over. You can remake the exact character and use the same name, and you really don't lose much compared to the overall length of the game.

If you Gwen is tainted you might as well give the girl cape and flute + flowers to a guild mate to hold tem for a while. Then make a new char grab the stuff and get your taapestry shred. Give it to you guild mate and you'll get your tapestry shred in seconds without losing any character progress.

You might even start farming the shreds
