IDS Farming
JimmyNeutron
All swords obtained in about one week.
Having the build is one thing, but understand how to use the build is another. Look forward to more detail and Tips-N-Tricks to farming IDS on this thread. And, if I'm really nice, free in-game training lessons.

nice drops

IDS farming isnt exactly new though. You're probaly just using an E/A or some form of a terratank build. They are pretty nice drops though.
mage767
The important question is: Are you using hero/hench to get to the icy cave?
kel77
I see somehow a FDS snuck in there

Thanks!
Yes, it's using Obi KaKnowBe One skill and the build is very common to all others Elementalists' builds.
But as I original stated, having the build is one thing, but understanding how to use it is another. My Tips-N-Tricks will involved
1. How to GET to the cave 99% of the time(nothing is ever 100% guarantee in life ) to improve on your chances of a drop
2. What do you do if you encounter Scenario XYZ
3. What skills needs to be cast and in what order
4. What skills needs to be use when
5. etc...
I don't recall any IDS guides going into these little fine details. Guarantee you, it will not be short. Instructions on getting just to Mineral Springs will probably be about 2 pages long or more.
Hopefully, you understand the level of detail I'm talking about now. I expect the PDF, video clips, etc.... to be over 100MByte easily due to the videos and screenshots.

Ok. Great, u have about 20 IDS'....at current market value that's what...320-400k? Pretty good for one week's work (so u say)! But, how much time are you talking about in one week? There are, let's see, 168 hours in a week. Assuming u sleep 5 hours a night, LIVE about 5 hours a day, that leaves 98 hours to do this run. Even if u're quick getting there, each run would have to take at least a 1/2 hour, no? So that's 196 runs, assuming that's all u did, excluding merching, id'ing, whatever...If u got approximately 20 swords there in a week's time, that means about 1 sword every 10 runs, or a 10% chance at a sword. Again, if those assumptions are correct, or even close to being on point, i don't agree. Reason being, I've made at least 20 of those extremely long, boring runs (many for infusing various char's armor), never resulting in an IDS. Anyway, gl and I look forward to seeing ur guide.
In_Flames
Im a little confused, are you going to make a guide or is there one already?
kratimas
Is there an ETA on this?
Krat
Krat
ProtocoL
I'm anxiously awaiting this guide. Looks sweet!
Nemo the Capitalist
im looking forward to this as well IDS r sexy
Marverick
Is there even a market for these anymore?
Kerwyn Nasilan
I'm looking forward to the guide, but wait for the trolls to flame you down like the Ele Solo FoW build.
ReZDoGG
I am tryin that build in that link mentioned above, as it seems good. But I can't seem to figure out how to run there without getting tagged by something. I am guessing that one skill that you talking about is the one that helps you run there...
damkel
Smokestajdh
Nice build man, i gotta no it . i used that build that was posted above ages ago, and got a black dye then the next kill was a IDS, and that was the very first group outside the cave !!
ReZDoGG
So you have to take full group then? in order to clear path and all that? Just sucks it takes so long just to get out there, clear the cave, then do it all over again. Do you zone also?
MrTickle
I'm looking forward to it I'll have to get the glyph for my Ele then I'm set.
lilesnoopy
takes me around 5-7 minutes to run to the cave according to the spawn
bart123
I wanna make somthing clear here you do not have to clear the way to the cave but simply need te run there using djini haste and ur enchants when needed there is no need for a full group whatsoever...
anyway my 2 cents
anyway my 2 cents
artay
Heres a tip, Use I am unstoppable for an easy pass past tundra giants.

I have done IDS farming both NM and HM and here are some results:
Normal Mode: 0 drops in 4 runs (got bored easily)
Hard Mode: 2 drops in 1 run (more challening but worth it I guess) - will post pic if requested.
HM took me 1 hr 10 min whereas NM took just 25-30 min. This includes clearing all enemies on the way.

I really would like to see your screenie

I really would like to see your screenie No problem - here is a photoshopped version of the screenshot. I have removed specific areas of my screenshot but I'm going to tell you about the build in general and what to bring:
Screenshot link of 2 IDS drop in HM: http://img178.imageshack.us/my.php?i...w785modiq4.jpg
Build: Mo/X 600, Smiter (hero), and a 3rd member (I will let you figure this one out). As you can see from the mini-map, there are 3 party members in total.
Mode: As shown in screenie, it's in HM and we vanquished 89 foes in minerals springs.
Time: 1 hr +10min from start of granite citadel to last imp killed in cave.
Challenge level = 9/10. Monk 600 must be good since Avicara can really be a nuisance in HM. The third party member is also a key member of this build.
We tried running there directly in HM with R/X, and A/Me but couldn't shake off all the enemies. Best possible case is run as close to cave and then all die, because there is a shrine close to the cave and a Monk 600/Smiter can take over from there.
Once we have ironed out a smoother faster version of this build for HM, it will be posted.

This is starting to make me a little mad. I have been trying to do this for a couple of days now and I cant even make it to the cave. I haven't played in a while so I'm still a bit rusty. Is any one going to put out a guide or are people just going to keep posting pics bragging about their drops???

I don't know what you are complaining about. A guide using Elementalists is already posted here:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10195784
As far as my build goes, it is still in development and will only be posted when complete. I'm not bragging about drops, I'm distinguihsing between the drop rates in NM and HM, that's all.
Lastly, you haven't said what character class you are using to farm IDS.

Wow, you people that post your builds and dont tell us what they are are really starting to piss me off. I really don't see the reason why you guys just show us your build. What's the point? to make us guess and make you feel oh so powerful? You think you are sooo smart. But really, all you want is attention.
Skinny Corpse
Another guide that wasn't a guide.. o well, I'll keep using my derv.

+1
Soooo many people saying "omfg i have an awesomeness guide" I solo farm the sword of 1,000 truths in HM with a P/X. I'll post it in a few days if people want to see it.
Either post the guide, a video, or just don't post. I mean seriously.....
Not to be a hater on your post, but you're just another of a rash of "i'm gonna post a guide" posts. Just post the guide ffs.

The OP has began this thread to get attention towards this farm when he releases his farming build. Either wait patiently like a good little player you should be (and this goes to ALL of you who have been flaming OP's in Farming Builds lately) or leave Guildwars and do not return. We do not need nor want players like your selves in this game.

you suggest it is a runner and that would explain why it isn't a hero but a real player. I can't come up with another vital character since the monsters in mineral springs shouldn't be a real problem for the 600/smite duo. only other two "vital" options are anti KD or e-denial.
I say it's a runner and I hope you'll post the build The third players is indeed human and is not a runner. Like I said earlier, no one can run to the Imp Cave in hard-mode. NM is way too easy though.
He is also not an anti-KD or e-denial.
Monsters in mineral springs are problem in mass - and watch out for the Avicara Ardents (big hint), and a way to stop them...in HM

Use the COF 600/Smiter build. It works fine:

Is this the new thing on guru? Posting a thread about a guide that isnt even finnished. Post a guide when the guide is finnished, not when its under construction.

hey i have an ele (lvl 8) but i wanna farm it on my war any tips/builds/guids?

I honestly don't understand why someone would post a "guide" and not have anything about the actual builds, or how to do a successful run. I mean, posting a screen shot is not a guide, and it does not help anyone out in any way. Pointless. Threads like this should be locked as soon as they are posted... don't know why it hasn't already.
I'm guessing that dualing would be the best way to go to make the run more successful. You can also try avoiding alot of enemies by watching their patrols, and then you can run on by without wasting time. Just take out the ones that are in the way, and you should be all set. You will have to take some Anti-Knockdown skills for killing the Tundras.
