Sup guys!

As most of you probably know, last December Rebel Rising [rawr] hosted the first ever player-sanctioned tournament event sponsored by Guild Cafe. The Rawr Cup Tournament was a huge success, so now we're at it again! However this time around we're changing up some things to make the next Rawr Cup better than ever.

I bring you the first ever Guild Cafe Tournament Committee (GCTC). The GCTC is a new committee formed to help improve the Rawr Cup Tournament to fit more what you guys want! This committee is where all the ideas about our next Rawr Cup tournament mechanics will be discussed. This includes everything from the ever so anticipated prizes, to the careful selection of map rotations. The GCTC is a group of players from the Guild Wars community just like you and I. Instead of just having [rawr] members run the show (how it was done previously), this time we really want to pull in different players from all corners of the GW community. This means PvE players, HB players, GvG players, HA players, etc. This way we can get input from all types of players and truly let the community decide how they want to run their own tournament.

So... wanna take part? Well you can be member of the GCTC! Just submit your application to be considered as a GCTC member for the next 2008 Rawr Cup. There are limited spots on the committee, so apply now before it's too late!

For more details on what the GCTC is about, check out the official homepage.

Get ready for an awesome tournament the GW community has never seen ^.^ Hope to see you there.

iono pve players might contribute to the lower brackets as they might be interested in doing a major tournament wihtout qualifying for the monthly.

I like the player-organised tourney, even though we didn't participate last time.

I have to agree with the other guy though: Why do you want Hero Battle players to pick GvG maps?

We want to be able to extend this tournament beyond high level pvp and top 100 matches. So we're focusing a lot on reaching out to the section of the community that never pvps but has always wanted to try, or to those who have only gvged once or twice in their entire career. This is where we have the most room to expand. There are tons and tons of untouched players out there who know little about the joys of pvp. So yes! We are reaching out to those pve-ers to get them interested in pvp. With their representation in the committee, we can find out what kind of tournament they would be interested in, and find something that works. Then gear certain divisions of the tournament to something they would find more enjoyable. The same mentality applies to HBers, HAers, etc...

Plus, keep in mind many people who don't GvG/HA might still be well qualified for this. I mean, I'm sure there are some PvE players with master degrees in buisness, accounting, computer science, etc that would know how to coordinate, plan, and advertise for an event. There are lots of people with RL skills that could contribute.
