Is there a fixed max and min character height for each profession. Or is it random whenever u make a character? Thanks.

It's a fix height range for each profession.

Yes, possible height does differentiate between classes. For example, warriors and mesmers can be quite tall in comparison to a monk.
So, no it isn't random

yes but every time when I make a warrior, how come the red max and min markers vary in position from time to time? I mean on the character height scale, the max and min limiters change every time I make a new character (of the same profession).

Eles and paragons can be the tallest.
Monks can be the shortest.

I'm not sure about the rest.

Yeah, the heights are different for different classes. I didn’t know that until I made a Ranger using the same number of clicks on the height scale I always used. I was real disappointed to see that he was a lot shorter than my other characters. He looked like a little kid standing next to characters in towns and outposts so I remade him. When I was creating a Monk I kept having to adjust her height too because Monks are shorter too.

I noticed a difference with Warriors too. I have a Warrior that's been remade several times because his height (or lack of) bugs me. The last time I made him I thought he was going to be real tall and yet he still looks short standing next to other Warriors. I wonder if it varies by campaign? My Warrior was made in Nightfall and the ones I've seen that are taller are from Prophecies.

it will randomly set a height when first making a character, but the range of height is determined by the profession. If you dont like where it randomly puts it then just drag the arrow to whatever height you want.

So it's a consistant scale bar on the right then? But can anyone tell me y when I make a warrior the right lines (mark max and min height allowed) changes from time to time?

it just randomly generates a new character, the height, face, and hair. you can change that when making a character. It is just making a random character for you.

Grrrrr. Thanks for helping guys, but u r not answering my question. This is my question: Every time when I make a warrior, how come the RED MAX AND MIN HEIGHT LIMITERS vary in position each time? Does this mean that I don't get the same height range each time?

No player knows for sure, I always assumed you picked a height and then a modifyer based on profession was applied.
There may be a modifyer based on sex too if so they really wouldnt want that one getting out.

I think they want us in the dark so we don't get exactly the same result for each character.
Its pretty hard to argue that something is wrong if we don't know how its coded I would hate to see all the threads on GW if we did know how everything worked.

Its rubbish really I mean profession doesnt affect height no matter how much you work out you dont grow taller.

It depends on sex. Also, sometimes when making a new character it'll start at a random height but the max/min height is always the same when making a profession.

Females tend to be smaller than male characters of the same profession. So, when making a female warrior, it'll be smaller than a male warrior.

Are you sure you're not imagining things?

No, I'm not imagining things. The max/min height limiter do indeed move on the scale every time u make a character. However, the scale doesn't matter, it's the relative position in between the max/min height limiters that matter. I found this out the hard way. Thanks guys.

I think the reason you are seeing a difference is because you are more zoomed into or zoomed out of the character at the time.

OMG! That's not what I was talking about! I was simply talking about the red limit lines. It doesn't matter now. I figured it out.

I don't think they are suppose to change, then again its been awhile since I last created a new char. Screen shot it to show us what you mean.

Go to make a character, then go to the height selection screen. Mark where the red lines are, then click back and next a couple times. The red lines will change position. The OP was wondering if that meant your character would have a different height depending on where the red lines are.

The answer was there in a single paragraph on the page I linked. Now, if you were looking for details as to the specifics, then you could post your findings here and possibly return something for the annoyance that you've become. Acting like a spoiled child is not the way to get what you want and will eventually lead to people just ignoring your threads, period.

He has every right to make threads asking questions, no matter how easy they are, so cut the crap.
