Ingame Store: Gift Card Usage?
Eldin
I own every campaign and own each in retail form. I have never purchased from the ingame store, though I'm thinking of doing so for aquiring the BMP next week. I have a question: Can I use gift cards in the ingame store?
I've heard that only ones that can be refilled (like Visa ones) work...though I prefer the American Express ones as the preset values are often close to what I want, and there is (at least in my area) less of an activation fee.
What is the story with gift cards in the ingame store?

As far as I know all credit card gift cards (visa, mastercard and such) work as long as they are the type of credit cards that the store will take. So check and see if the in-game store has takes the type you want to use.

If you also have a verified PayPal account, you can download their "virtual debit card" that creates a onetime use credit card number that takes the money from your PayPal account.
I know that works on the ingame store, it's what I used to buy Eye of the North for myself and a guildie.

suddenly I'm not so concerned with the fact that the BMP might not make it's way to a store around here.

Beware that if you're european you can't have a american guildie buy a prepaid CC for you to buy stuff in the online store. The currency for the european version of the ingame store / ncstore won't accept american cc's.

To test if the preset amount American Express cards work, I put in one of my near-empty ones, assuming that, in the event the store does accept it, it will say not enough money is on it.
I get the error message "network error" instead...
So should I play it safe and get one of the refillable Visa ones? What do you guys think.

/agree get a preset credit card and set it to exactly or raised to the dollar of the BMP+tax(if there is tax)

Probably already been mentioned but Debit cards work ok too, my visa one did
Wouldn't have a credit card too easy to get into debt but my debit card is just a convenience to save writing cheques all the time.

I know this may seem obvious, but you never know....
Gift cards work, if they are the pre-paid cards from one of the major CC companies (Visa, Mastercard, AMX).
Gift cards from retail stores - Wal-mart, Home Depot, etc. - don't work.

I understand that already, Quaker.
I've just heard rumors though that only the gift cards where you can choose how much is on them and add additional money to them (most Visa ones) work.
In the past I've only used the ones with preset values (American Express).
