i've been hearing many concerned gw players on blogs saying that gw2 will become over-flowed with an army of expansions all crammed into one store which might lead to a guild wars 3.
so i was thinking of this new business model this is something i just came up with so i apologize in advance.
instead of releasing a whole bunch of mini-expansions and expansions so frequent how about anet release some type of lineage 2 type of update like every 3-6 months like the kamael so when an update is released you can pay for it online or go to a retail store and pick up an update pass which will provide a code to unlock any update they have released in the past and can cost up to 30-50 dollars depending on the size of the update.
also they can release actual expansions every couple of years which will be even bigger, i believe a business model like this will be a better profit for arena net and it wont over-bloat them.
along with the updates and expansions anet can provide us with free streamed updates which they can provide you with, upgrade graphics, pvpve balance, nerfs, contests, etc.
if you disagree please share your ideas on how to make this better.
will this buisness model work for guild wars 2.

and how is this business model different from the one Anet uses now ?
: that's exactly what they're doing atm, except it's 6 months rather than 3 (and tbh, i don't want them to rush any expansions).

the whole point of GW2 is that they want a new business model.
if they wanted to do the same thing then they would stick with one and we would still be getting chapters.

Anyhoo-
I like the idea, but it seems like it would have exactly the same limitations that you're worried about. What you seem to be suggesting is that instead of making us buy seperate expansions every 3-6 months, they package it so that we can buy them every 3-6 months if we choose, or wait a year and buy them all at once..?
Personally I like the way GW is now, or I suppose more appropriately was, so that we have six months to work through the game, then just when we're starting to get bored they release another expansion to work through. I like that business model. I doubt they could do anything I wouldn't be happy with as long as the future expansions aren't soley available in the online store.
