Spirits are fine, they were a problem back when you could have limitless amounts of w/e spirit you wanted on the map....but these days there are perfectly fine, send someone to kill them while the rest of your team does the dirty work and you will be ok.

I don't see much reason not to implement this. Simply limit the maximum number of active spirits at the same time to 3, in the same way they limit the number of minions.

Nope. Spirits aren't that strong (hp-wise). Don't fix something that isn't wrong.

Spirits are pretty balanced as-is. They are not that hard to kill, and even when you're the Rit spawning power is so anemic it's tough to make a resilient spirit when fighting against an intelligent foe.
Since I play Rit more then Necro, if a nerf like your proposal did take place, I'd counter-argue that MMs should be limited in their minions in a similar fashion. Not that I think MMs should be nerfed, however if you do it for one, you gotta do it for all.

I'd only argue that spirits should be vulnerable to hexes, since minions are. I don't see a need to limit them though.

There is nothing wrong with spirits right now, they are limited to 1 of each type, they cant move, and therefore are easy to get away from, low hit points=easy to kill. Minion masters get like 9 or 10 minions at max death (i think 9) that follow them and are high lvls with decent hp. i love both mms and spirit spammers, but i think mms should be nerfed before spirit spammers

I think spirits is fine the way it is, so not signed for limiting 2 spirit per character.
However, i think spirits should lost its bond to the caster once the caster is dead, like minions loosing their bonds to the minion master when they die. so if you spam spirit and unfortunately can't stay alive. damn be your team... it will become rogue spirit or all spirit will die with the summoner.

Spirit spam isn't that powerfull, however it has got a high ratio of skill vs reward. It's just plain dumb, any player can play it and be a fairly good addition to the team. And since we're into it, also nerf those thumpers and all sins ^^. also no skill required to play those

Kaida, for the smaller 4v4s, instead of limiting the number of spirits, reduce how long they will stay around in those areas. However I see what you are getting at because Anet did nerf how many minions a necro can carry...
Is that what you are trying to get at, necro spirit spammers? If so I'd limit it to one plus another for every 3-4 spawning power you have.
