This is reeeally early to be asking, but what the hell...
Based on the info ANET has released on the lore and gameplay of GW2, who is planning to buy GW2?
Me?
I'm not.
I have Prophecies and Nightfall, been playing for two years, and I have yet to fully explore or complete either. I've never been to the realms of the gods or the realm of torment. I've never played as a Mesmer or Monk as my primary profession. I'm not in a guild. I haven't unlocked all the heroes, or capped all skills for any of my characters. I have a grand total of ONE suit of prestige armor.
Sooo....no. No new world until the old is fully (and I mean FULLY) discovered.
Will you buy GW2?

Absolutely. After reading the first few pages of the "what 3 things did ANet fail at" thread, I realized that even the things others are calling failures are things that I have appreciated as positive features in the game. Well, not unfixed glitches, but they haven't hurt my playing, so meh. So it seems my game values are in tune with the developers. So until they make something that I don't like, I will be buying whatever they produce.
Really depends what being offered.
I think my biggest mistake was buying prophecies (this was before factions came out)
and I loathed it.
I don't want to go through the same crap again.
So it really depends if I find anything that meets my style in Gw2
Or I'll wait for an expansion that creates that style for me.

i am 100% buying it. Based nthe Guild Wars 2 wiki and the lore provided, the plot seems very thick. World PVP looks amazing. (Comeon, who wouldn't want a huge pvp battle?)

I look at it this way: I enjoy GW1, but at some point the servers for it will be shut down. As a result, I will have to look for another game *eventually*, and it might as well be a game I have a history with, and thus I'll most likely get GW2.
In a broader sense, I have never felt as much of a desire to replay a stand-alone action/rpg game as much as I play GW, and so since it will cost about the same as a regular single-player game, why not get it?

I'm definitely going to buy it. I'm really looking forward to it, actually. And it sounds like GW2 might be a game that my friends will actually play as well (I got them to buy GW1, and they say that it's a good game, but they seem to have some problem with not being able to be better than the next guy. I tried to explain that's what titles were for, but they said it just didn't compare).
Of course, I will still come back to GW1 from time to time. I plan to have at least one Hall of Monuments maxed out (except with rare minis that I will never be able to afford without months of farming, which I don't enjoy) before GW2 is released, and then I'll probably come back every couple of days to work on some more characters.
