I think a lot of people are missing the point here. We should not have to wait for an NPC to walk through every square foot of the Onyx Gate before they finally bother to start running, which is STILL slower than player speed.

I theorized ages ago that Leah walks that slow because ANet initially intended people to unlock her, then clear the fortress around her. Having her move fast in that case would be suicide. Then everyone cleared ahead and came back, which made that just plain annoying.

/Signed for speed buff if no enemies present.

i don't hate her, at least she walks in the right direction, unlike a certain braindead prince that decides to go aggro a whole Charr legion in the opposite direction of your objective.

(yes, I actually had Rurik zerging off at the end of Ruins of Surmia away from the damn academy, outside healing range, and blowing up against billions of charr ...)

I just hate mission NPCs

Prophecies missions always had chests..

i dont hate her..she gives me time to get a coffee..

you seem to have 2 choices...

1: get her first and risk having her killed(ghostbusted) clearing way to grave..

2: clear path to grave..then go back for her and put up with the slow walking..

i prefer option 2...

I do, I often do that mission. Go take a piss while shes catching up... only for her to vanish off the face of the earth when I come back. You'd think she could at least leave a corpse.

She doesnt aggro anything, because you clear the way for her before you go talk to her.

About the only thing I dislike about Leah is she is sooo slooooooww for the first half of her "run" to where she wishes to go, though it is kind of a nice time to stand around and have fun, fool around a bit, until she makes it where she's going. Just clear the way for her. I've been in a few PUGs that didnt clear the way for her, despite my suggestion that it was probably a wise move. That too was entertaining.

Oh god that was the most annoying Bonus EVER. Not the most difficult, but SO tedious. I got the job of escorting her, while the other person I was doing the mission with took the henchmen (basically the rest of the party) and started clearing the path. He cleared the whole path by the time the stupid ghost got halfway through.

I dont hate her, while doing this one a while back the phone rang---my mom, so we chatted quite some time, and I get back to the game; Leah still has yet to make it out of the fort. ...oh well, at least she didnt die while I was gone making me have to repeat this slow mission....its one of the easier, yet longest bonuses I think.

Leah's definitely annoying, but not nearly as much so as Rurik.

Would you rather have an NPC that you must escort:
1) Move glacially slowly?
2) Leeroy without any heed for personal safety?

TBH, skill capping Abbadon 900 times is much more irritating than having to free Leah once or twice.

I wish Anet would stick a jet pack to her or something. I hate this bonus only because it is so long and tedious. Her laps around the fort are completely pointless if you go for the sensible no chance of failure path of clearing her route first.

I liked it.

I had to go down to give the car keys to my uncle while doing the mission. I thought the mission would be finished and people would flame me. I come back to find them all dancing - we then chat and have a nice laugh while somebody escorts her. We then finish the mission and add each other to the friends list.

thats my experience xD, not sure it would be so good with H/h

This is a mission where you have to amuse yourself while an NPC walks.

You have to amuse yourself by doing something else while playing a game.

That is a failure of design.

correct me if i am wrong but isnt she meant to go slow, so you can actually have time to kill enemies on the way to grave...
i dont think the game can tell that area has been cleared already..so it sticks with original programming.

This is somehow a different situation than say, the Frost Gate bonus where the NPC just follows your group? Or any situation where they join your party and follow at your pace?

I LOVE THIS NPC!!!

This was the mission I used to initiate Officers into my guild, they had to play escorte for the ghost while the rest of our party went on to complete the mission.

As I posted in the other thread, definitely the most reviled NPC in the game, IMO.

I normally get a chuckle or two when I PuG that bonus, when I exclaim...

"I'm using 'Hurry the F*** Up!' on Leah Stone!"

Totally annoying. /signed on put her in the group and make her follow you. It alleviates the issue of slow wander if you cleared the path already or if you decided to bring her and kill along the way you know how to take care of her.

Either way, not a hard bonus at all, just agonizingly slow when you are waiting for her molasses footed rear end to get out of the fort

The group idea sounds good. It seems pointless to have her go so slowly & walk around in circles.. they can just set her like the ghostly hero... can follow or stay..

I suppose they wanted people to have the time to kill the stuff in front of her while she walked, but honestly she starts moving quickly after the fortress, so what's the problem with getting right to the point from the beginning?

She was intentionally programmed that way to bug people. ANET is dissappointed that it took this long for anyone to complain. You people are slower than Leah Stone!

I guess she wasn't too bad... The annoying part was when she goes up the stairs and then turns back (as if to agro the <hopefully defeated> Mursaat group). I guess if you're an Ele (or sub Ele), you could always use Windborne Speed on her

This is my first post, by the way.
