the most overrated skin/title/armor/accomplishment

Ever see someone running around in some brand new high end armor that just looks dumb? Or with a title they think commands respect but is really pretty insignificant? Or with an ultrarare sword and shield that look positively hideous together?

What in your opinion is the most overated armor/item/title/whatever that people show off?

1. Being low level in a late-game town. This is generally unique to prophecies. The guy who brags because he's level 2 in marhan's. Yes, great, the PROFESSIONAL RUNNER who YOU PAID to run you here is somewhat impressive. You? Not so much. All you did was use a service.

2. Monk FoW Armor. I see this all the time. Probably the single most common fissure suit, and I'm left with the same impression any time I see one that isn't black or white; the goofy collar, the alternating colors, the poofy pants... it looks like a clown suit.

3. EotN special gloves. The frosty and firey and stoney ones can sometimes work on an ele who is wearing the corresponding suit of armor, but otherwise they're just ugly and never work with the rest of your armor. The dragon glove-hand puppets are particularly bad, but the worst of the worst, though, is the chaos gloves. Yes, great, you have a lot of ecto and no taste. Congratulations.

The fow armor+chaos cloves+bandana is bad. This is all opinion based of course. Some nub might think it makes them l33t :sigh:

It annoys me to see lightbringer and (usually incomplete)explorer titles in AB.

Elementalist Female FoW armor.

Sorry, but it looks like a jogging suit with spikes. No taste at all.

I think all but one or two of the FoW armors are terrible. I don't like many of the vabian options either. Destroyer weapons are ugly. In fact I think I can't stand the look of the majority of high-end items. Skill-wise, the titles for having a lot of skills annoy me as do the pve ones.

I'll second that. Also the Mo Zing mask, Chaos Gloves and FoW combo on any character is just as bad. It's like, "hey look at all the money I just spent. This must look good."

I also don't find the Gwen Special Gloves very pretty... It just doesn't fit in most of the armors, some ppl look like christmas trees.

Regarding FoW armour ~ most of the people I know got their FoW when there were no expansions available and therefor considerably fewer options than we have now in terms of armour skins. I personally can not stand warrior primeval armour but i know alot of people who like it. ~ Its all preference I guess. My warriors FoW has lived happily in storage since I got him 1k Istani armour; but my monk still uses his as I haven't come across another set I like as much for him, as there are too many reskins.

Overall ~ Primeval warrior is my most hated armour skin ~

They should all uninstall IMO.

Most overrated title: Legendary Guardian. (Leg. Vanquisher is a close second).
Why? Because it can be done in a week-end with mostly heroes and hench.

Survivor/LDoA. Gladiator too, gj farming RA scrubs.

I don't like the look of end of pretty much any high-end items and armor. ANets "spikier = teh leeter" school of design just doesn't work for me. Personal taste, of course.

Title: People can wear whatever titles they want. I do hate the PvE titles with in-game effects, but they're not overrated - they're annoying and overpowered.

/disagree. I don't have fow, but quite frankly most female ele armor is a bikini. Very sexist. As the games progressed it got worse. Went from a skirt and short top to a bikini. There's only a very few sets that aren't that bad. Fow is one of the only elite armor that actually LOOKS like it could be protective.

I also get annoyed by anyone who thinks they are 1337 because they have 1/2 a title. Unless its GWaMM... 1/2 of that is pretty impressive still.

And then people who brag about beating a campaign. They should be shot.

Gladiator title, hands down. My monk was recently cussed out by a r5 gladiator saying that prot/heal hybrid monks are useless, and noobs used woh. At least mending wammos have enough sense to let monks just do their thing.

close second is fow armor / chaos gloves. It proves that you could either find a farming build on pvxwiki and did 1000 UW runs, or you have $10 and know how to use a credit card. For most classes it also demonstrates you have no fashion sense.
