I was hoping I could get a little instruction here. I have not played Guildwars in about 10 months, before that I had played since the servers first opened up.

I logged in for the first time the other day to find sitting in my storage was a treasure trove of products. Almost my entire storage bin (all 4 sections) are filled with gold Items. Some of them are from missions in Urgoz, some from tomb and underworld ect... either way I have a ton of them.

My question is how do I know which to keep, which to salvage for parts and where to sell them. I guess I am looking for a kind of salvaging and moding guide. I am not short on cash atm, I have about 650k but I planned on getting some great armor for 3 or 4 of my characters and want a little cushion of 200k or so left over. I would really like to do this by utilizing my current treasure stash.

If there is a current guide that has helped you please direct me, If you you can offer some advice or direction I am wide open

Please do not respond to this thread if your answer is "you can make lot of gp running missions or doing Drok's runs". Also, "Make a Guild and sell it to make uber gp!" is not quite what I am looking for either.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Guide

Well since I started this thread some time ago I have taught myself (with the help of some wonderful guru mates i.e Stewie, crazypolish, Luke ect.) how to make money with what I already have. This is a guide for those of us who have many items in their storage who are looking to make a profit with what they have but are unsure of how to go about it with an emphasis on gold weapons. This guide is just that, a guide. There are many ways to make money in guild wars and I am simply sharing with the community what has worked for me. I will welcome advice & constructive criticism to help make this guide better for all. So please feel free to let me know what you think, whether something should be added or removed.

If you did not know, Constructive criticism is a compassionate attitude towards the person qualified for criticism. Having higher experience, gifts, respect, knowledge in specific field and being able to verbally convince at the same time, this person is intending to uplift the other person materially, morally, emotionally or spiritually.

What you will need

There are a few things that I recommend you have to get you in order to get started off on the right foot.

The first of course is a whats called a mule. The term Mule is used for a pve character that sole purpose is to hold and lug your items around that you have for sale so that the items do not take up space in your normal inventory. It is very important that you mule has the three major hubs Kaineng City, Lions Arch and Kamadan. These three places are the major market hubs and you will find that selling your items here will be relatively easer opposed to selling them in other towns and outposts.

Second: will be some perfect salvage kits. Purchase perfect salvage kits (if you don't have eye of the north you can buy one for 1-3k depending on the seller)

Third: Patience and Dedication. It will take some time for you to sell your wares, its important for you to set a few hours aside each week dedicated to selling. Either in game or through Guru.

Organizing your Wares

The first and most important lesson I learned was to understand the going rate for all Weapon Mods and inscriptions. Mods are easy sales, always in demand, and you can normally sell them with out to much effort. Use the guide located in the price check section of the forms to familiarize yourself with "base" weapon mod prices found here:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=44867

This will not only increase your knowledge base on weapon mods but you will start to familiarize yourself with all the different weapons of guildwars. This will really pay of later.

Next, remove all perfect mods. You can even sell near perfect mods as well such as +29 health mods (fortitude) for 1k. The most sought after mods from what I can tell are sundering mods, 15^50 inscriptions and enchantment mods (to date).

Once you have salvage the mods off your weapons in storage then its time to take a look at them. Any weapons you have that rq9-rq10 can "almost" always fetch 1k even if it is a common skin. Players are always looking for a nice low rq weapon for their new characters whether the skin is perfect or not. The easiest place to sell the common skins with low Rqs (9-10) are central player hubs such as n00b island in factions or nightfall (starter island) or Old Ascolon.

An important note to remember is that your weapons, no matter what rq they are, are not worth anything if they do not provide max damage. If you do not know the max damage of each weapon i have provided it for you here

MAX DAMAGE

Sword..........15-22
Axe..............6-28
Hammer........19-35
Bow.............15-28
Wand...........11-22
Staff............11-22
Daggers........7-17
Scyth...........9-41
Spear..........14-27

If your weapons you have in storage are not max, salvage any mods and merch them. It is not worth your time to find a buyer.

2nd Important note to always consider is if you have an rq8 with max damage it is worth considerably more. Make sure you get a price check on all RQ 8 weapons before you do anything with them.

Once you have striped your mods and allocated your weapons and loaded them up on your mule its time to get price checks.

Before for we go any further I would like to encourage every one to PLELASE
READ THE PC RULES. Respect them, love them, Abide by them!!

You can find them here:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10047441

If you are unsure about a weapon or item ask for a price check here on guildwars guru. I normally like to have 2-4 price checks from different players before I settle on a price. Alot of your wares will be junk so don't take offense. Always keep in mind that pc are just estimates there are no set prices. A buyer will pay what he feels the item is worth. You can always find someone who will pay more and loads of people who will pay less. Keep in mind the amount of time you are willing to put in to sell an individual item. No need to hold out 3 hours of your time for an extra 3k.

The easiest way to get fast accurate pricing for your wares is by providing our wonderful community of price checkers with pictures of you wares.

Alot of you may be new to this so I would like you to read this Thread which explains the basics.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=5430

I prefer using Image shack but there are many other image hosting sites you can use.

Once you have Salvaged your perfect and near mods and inscriptions, Price checked your golds, Merched your crap and got an Idea of what you're remaining golds are worth its time to sell!

Selling you're Wares

There are two ways I recommend that you sell your wares in the begging. The first is in game while the second is here at Ventari’s Corner. Ventari's corner is possible one of the greatest tools offered here at guru and I greatly appreciate all who take part it!

Selling in game is rather easy but takes a bit of time, take your mule with your goods and head to one of the major hubs in guildwars (Kaineng City, Lions Arch and Kamadan). Once in the district put one of your items up for sale.

WTS 20/20 Sword hilt.

You can include your buy out price in the post or simply leave it empty and give your price once some one contacts you. Depending on what your selling it may or may not be in your advantage

I find it better to sell one specific item as opposed to "WTS Loads Of Mods!! PM Me) I find that I get quicker response if I sell on particular item such as a +30hp Shield handle of fortitude or you can put up one of you're rq 9 for sale. When putting weapons up for sale always let the buyers know if it is inscribable or not.

While you are waiting for your first response scroll through what others are looking to buy in the WTB section of the trade screen [P] key. If you have a bit pm the player and let them know you have it and give them a price. Always be polite and give the player time to respond. Use the general price guide in PC section and price as you feel desired. I normally do not sell for the highest price because I want to move my items fast at a reasonable price. I do not discourage anyone from asking for the max price you think is possible and sticking to your guns. Just keep in mind how much time you want to spend selling each item.. Like I said before, its not worth an extra 1-3k if its going to take you 1-3 hours to sell. Your time is valuable.. remember that

Once you have sold the item of desire simply put another one up for sale and repeat. After a bit of time you will notice that your WTS post will travel higher and higher in the trade window this is good for you because your items for sale will be noticed sooner then recently posted WTS.

As for selling your items on guru please refer to this thread. Follow it closely and read ALL the rules before posting. Love them, respect them, Abide by them.

Well I hope this helps some of you sell some of the items you already have and also introduce to the world of selling in guildwars. I look forward to your response and expect updates on this post as I review it and others offer useful advice.

Good Luck and Have Fun

Try the pc forum. That will help you know what to keep and know what to merch/salvage. I wouldn't salvage anything personally, I'd just buy the materials for what I needed.

Here's the link for the pc forum. http://guildwarsguru.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=39

Heres what I do.
Take the gold you got and look for any furious/sundering/health mods or 15^50 or 5 energy inscriptions and salvage them off, these can easily sell from ranges 1k-10k. Make sure the item you salvage is not worth something! If it has req 11 or above i usually scrap it unless its a cool looking skin and use it myself. Take the req9 and req10 items you have and try them on your characters and measure which look coolest. You generally wanna keep the cool looking ones to sell them because they may be worth something. If its not cool looking and req 9-10 I usually scrap it.

Heres another tip for everyday people, Identify all the items you find because they do actually raise the value from like 1g-50g.

Most important tip here: ALWAYS IDENTIFY BLUE ARMORS (anything with runes) and look up the prices, Radiant/Survivor/Vitae/Attunement are the most common ones people over look these EASILY sell to rune trader 200-500g, Also look for good minors such as divine favor which i believe i sold yesterday to rune trader for 1.1k also good ones to look for are Minor Energy Storage and Minor Strength. Always check Rune Trader before you merchent them.

when you get into areas where enemies are over lvl 20, i usually buy a superior i dentification kit and identify every item. it does actually pay off.

500g for superior kit. 100 uses....
so thats 5g per use. You can easily make more than 5g extra identifying items
