Hello so while playing guild wars I have run into some graphics problem. In towns
it seems to only happen. Ill be in a town then the textures will turn weird colors like the floor will turn green and npc names white when it happens there isnt even a lag it happens instantly. I then try to alt tab out it takes longer than usual for me to alt tab out. Then there is this lag so I cant even bring up windows task manager so I try alt tab back in and the screen turns black so I wait and then the guild wars cursor appears. It takes to long to load everything so I just manually restart the computer. After restarting the computer I try run guild wars again and everything works fine. This happens like every 6hours or so im guessing maybe my graphic card might be overheating. The temperature is at around 63-67 degrees celcius when I'm playing guild wars. My graphics card is XFX 8600 GT XXX.

Also I use to get this error the file nv4_disp.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer I dont get it anymore.

Here is a screenshot of the graphics going crazy. The rectangular white blocks around text arent my doing.

Doesn't look like your card is overheating.

What driver are you using?

The driver is ForceWare Release 169.28 beta

Can you try the release version 169.21 instead of trying beta drivers. Has far as I know all nvidia cards use the nvidia driver, no need to find xfx drivers. http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

Well since you use forceware you are using nvidia driver. If you install from the maker of the card you get a bunch of extra. To me they are usely useless stuff that only take place but that is only my opinion. The beta drivers are there to fix something in Crysis. To make sure that it is not the beta driver, the best way would be to uninstall the drivers for your card and then run driver cleaner (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745). Only choose nvidia in the menue if you have a nforce chip on your motherboard, do not choose nforce! Then restart and reinstall the nvivia driver don't choose the beta release.

Okay i uninstalled the beta driver. And installed the current version. But I have a question while I was in safe mode and I restarted my computer there was a pop up for a end now the file was called should not see me... Im guessing this is a virus but I scan my computer all the time and nothing ever comes up. I rarely download any files also and im the only one who uses this computer...

I also had this system error
Follow these steps to solve the problem with a video device driver

You received this message because a device driver installed on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop error." A stop error requires you to restart your computer.

Solution

There are two options you can use to try to fix the problem. If the first option doesn't work, then try the second.

Option 1: Install the most current device driver for your video card

Option 2: Manually decrease Hardware Acceleration for your video adapter

Ifaik Should not see me are usely seen after an install. You should google it to see if it happen in the same way that most people describe. Does the suystem error happen often? I seen an error like that before and it was bad rams. You could run memtest for a night and see if it finds errors. Also from what I can find on the net many people complain that there xfx 8600 overheat.
