Hi everyone, as we all sure know, Guild Wars has great graphics and we all enjoy them but I don't think that most of us understand how really beautiful the game really is. I recently started a contest in the Community Contest forum for a Photo contest of real serious photos taken in the game. I really like taking photos like these and was seriously surprised by these photos at how good the game really looked. I have the finalist photos which are to be voted upon by the guru community to choose the winner. I am going to post the link to the thread so everyone can see Guild Wars in a different light. I am NOT doing this because I am trying to pull voters, it's simply that you guys can see how awe-inspiring this game looks.

Below is the link, if you want to vote that is your decision but this post isn't intended for you to.

Too bad the screenshots taken with my Geforce4 MX won't win any award with "Beauty" in it.

I believe that guildwars automatically renders everything in ultra highest mode (Or whatever its called...) For that screenshot then reverts everything back.

That is if i remember correctly from my old gpu days.

This is true, but the end result may still look different on different cards due to different capability.

The Geforce4MX is essentially a re-named Geforce2 ultra card, and as such will not be able to render many of the reflections, bloom, and flare, used in newer areas of Guildwars. If you have a newer card you can pretty much simulate an old card such as Geforce4MX by turning off post-processing.

(As an aside it's interesting to see how much the graphics of Guildwars has changed over the last three years - compare the area around Lions Arch to, say, Grothmar Wardowns. Much more foliage and details, much more use of effects; turning off post-processing outside LA has virtually no effect, but doing so in Grothmar Wardowns....)
