Temple of the Damned: 2man Farm (Any Profession)
A Simple Farmer
Hey this a thread to keep track of alternate Hard Mode builds for the Temple of the Damned dungeon aka Cathedral of Flames. So if you are bored paying to be run in temple, or if you just want to get your Deldrimor Title Track up. It's time to dust off your old Characters, and try some new builds.
These Builds are all variations on my 600Rt/Smite build. I'm only switching a couple skills to make it work (except for Warrior). I've already made my fortunes & new builds keep me interested in GW.
These aren't intended as 2man runs. Only a couple are easy, most are hard to do. They are meant for a hero and U, & after a while, you'll be faster with a hero than with a person.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Standard Use:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
How-To do you use a SB hero? It's a little difficult to get started on, so 1st learn how to use the standard MoMe Build and the run itself. Take the time to read this
Be aware most of these builds have no interrupt prevention.
I'm not a great 600, but I barely ever get interrupted. The key is good agro, and casting SOA at the time you agro. So I usually, flag a hero well back, if it's a patrol, I wait till they are walking towards me (if it's a standard group, I walk up my bubble to just before agro). I select myself (F) and click on Ogden's SB. As he's running up, I'll precast PS, and just as SB is cast on me, I agro.
As soon as they BEGIN runing towards me (I watch miniMAP) I cast SOA, then SpBo, followed by whatever skills are optionals in my build as needed. While waiting for SOA to expire If energy is maxed, I'll recast PS. Otherwise I wait till SOA blinks, then cast SpBo and SOA as soon as it becomes recharged (you are bridging the GAP of no SOA with SpBo). By the time the second SOA expires, your SB should be off, and mostly everything should be dead.
Around Mesmer's cover PS with SpBo. Easy Peasy.
Video Examples:
I've shot a couple Vidz so you can get the sense of timing, as well as energy management.
Typical 600 Gear:
Starter Armor. (the lower the armor the better)
Sup Vigor Rune, survivor insignias and runes of Vitae galore $$$
Caster's Spear (20% enchanting mod) +45 offhand (while enchanted)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hints:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------I'm pretty sure you can use a superior Salvage Kit to salvage the runes off Ogden, without running the risk of 'destroying' his heapiece. So you could probably run him as 16/16. Also if Ogden has some severe DP, just remove both runes, at the fire dart at the end of level 3 & facing Murakai Pull the Steward out from the group. Once it's dead, head back to Ogden to Regen, and get another SB to go pick up the key. When Facing Murakai, pull her over the Flame jet closest to her, (toward the left bridge). If she is burning she dies faster, and there is less chance that the 'powerbar' reaches max and then Ogden will be diseased. So check your Hero's DP for health For Spiders, try running away from them, then cast spell, apparently if they are moving they can't interrupt. Concerning Energy Use:Don't SPAM your skills When you face the last 1-2 Ghouls, don't use SOA just sb but do use SOA for the Char. The char have some pretty good degen. Also, cast PS a LOT while there are big mobs, then only as needed when it's down to a the last couple stragglers. I guess another tip would be to not recast your SB and SOA as soon as they expire, rather let your health drop down a bit, you can add a couple seconds to SB, works great on Murakai. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Running
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have party members bring a heal for Ogden to counter the new Reversal of Damage, Optimally, it'd be Reversal of Damage, and Weapon of Remedy or Vengefull Weapon. If the weapon spell is removed recast BOTH (Ogden is always enchanted with Blessed Aura)
Don't bring Light of Deldrimor
Running can be very profitable, but can also make a lot of enemies. Don't run one of these builds, unless you don't suck. Then by all means do, and charge a lot; you're worth it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Smite
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hero: Ogden
Typical Smite Gear:
Enchanting weapon with a +1 (20%) smiting/devine offhand.
Attributes:
15 Devine, 16 Smiting (or 16 Devine, 15 Smiting)
Template Code: OwAT443A5IllMi5DfyDgyEA
[Blessed Signet][Signet of Devotion][Spell Breaker][Retribution][Holy Wrath][Balthazar's Spirit][Blessed Aura][Rebirth]
Use:
On Spawn, cast up maintained enchants, (let Hero Manage Blessed Aura on himself).
Keep your Hero flagged at least an Agro Bubble away. Press 'f' (target yourself). Then cast for hero, Blessed Signet, Glyph of Lesser Energy, Spell Breaker
Hero will run up and cast SB on you; immediately agro & follow standard use (see above).
Alternate Skills:
If you don't die a lot, you can add Glyph of Lesser Energy for Rebirth
If you're a runner, you can add Glyph of Lesser Energy for signet of devotion
Notes:
Reversal of Damage update, causes Ogden to get hurt, this is normal.

Me/Mo
Typical 600 Gear:
See above ^^
Attributes:
16 Fast Casting, 12 Protection

Template Code: OQNCA8zjW8uWPaA6U9B9IkA
Use:
Non-Standard; Mantra Of Recovery, speeds up the recharge of Shield of Absorption. Allowing for an almost continuous SOA.
When there are only a few enemies left, save energy & stop using SOA and Mantra of Recovery
Once you are confident with your build you could replace persistence of memory with Light of Deldrimor.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alternate Build:

TAlternate Code: OQNCM8zjW8uWPaZRA9B9IkA

Notes:
You can agro only 1 group at a time with this build.
I've Verified this build works in Temple.

12 smiting

2+1 mysticism
can kill anything in UW up to chaos plains. can replace [fleeting stability] with [rending aura] and [mystic regeneration] with [mystic twister] if you all you want to do is kill aatxes and smites. of course change all earth prayers attribute points and runes to wind prayers. but with 700+ HP holy wrath and retribution do a lot more damage. killing smites with this build can take a little time especially if it's down to the last one of the group, due to their divine intervention and reversal of fortune. that's why if all you want to do is clear smites and aatxes you should use the 2nd set of skills.

may I warn everyone without an anti interruption skill in their builds for crypt ghouls and needling lava striders. also, when spell breaker expires Crypt Wraith will be able to interrupt you, ruïning your day.
strangely enough you forgot to post the Mo/Me build with Mo/N smiter...

LF: ele build, otherwise, pretty damn nice (notice I used the word damn as in temple of the damned, I thought that was very creative).
Stoneys Rock
as borat would say: "Its Nice" :- )
btw one little thing with the smiter build:
[card]Blessed Aura[/card]
Blessed Aura can only be cast on the caster casting it.
Ergo Ogden can only cast it on himself as he has the skill.

strangely enough you forgot to post the Mo/Me build with Mo/N smiter... Thanks for the heads-up, I posted a little How-To section. The key is to have SOA up before the melee gets to ya. They seldom last longer than a second SOA.
PS. Posted a monk build... Is that the one you were looking for?

I was thnking that too but

Opted to not go for the ObFl as it's 50% slowdown is a real bummer. You may also be disappointed at Glyph of renewal; ignoring the damage dealing capabilities of the ele, but I was going for safest build, not fastest.
However, once I got the hang of the pre-casting. I was able to agro 2 groups at once. Which make the run a LOT faster, than killing a single group at a time fast. All in all, it's pretty close in stability to the mesmer build. Bl00DGuY Nice screen, glad you're enjoying it. blurmedia
When you say you verified them to work in the temple, did you actually run the entire dungeon in HM or just parts of it?
jbwarrior
Really nice, I have to try the Ele buidl
vespertine
tried the mesmer build yesterday.. works good.. only tough situation was to get the bosskey on lvl3.. but the steward can be pulled back, so you only fight him alone..

I've got my Necro to the mission at longeye's (I'm getting sick of repeating that mission) and can't wait to try it. Sethellington
tried the contagion build. WAY too much damage to handle, you get wiped in about 5-10 secs, because it doesn't trigger SoA or Spirit bond, so it's unavoidable damage, as well as degen from burning etc.
Fuzzy Taco
i also gave the necro build a go, Contagion is WAY too suicidal. Vamp Spirit is just annoying, as the additional energy cost isn't worth it imo. i'd just run with 14 Soul Reaping (to minimize downtime) and either Mark of Protection vs. enchantedspikes or your own 5 second spellbreaker. i've cleared it a few times with 6 second spellbreaker, works like a charm, and i always have full energy, ty soul reaping.
KycooGhost
WOOT! Thanks for the builds. Been wanting to try ToD solo but not having time to test builds on my ele . Ty though .

Aw, that's too bad about contagion, was hoping that would work. I like the idea of the 5 second SB, for the weaker builds I'll probably do the same, nj.

Ran it last-night as my Warrior,
Here's a couple screenshots, it was a blast. Died a couple times. After reading Fuzzy Taco's comment about SB, I shoulda brought it would've saved me a couple times. And Yes the Flower Crown is INTEGRAL to the build. Sorn Xarann
yay for warrior love!
Lyssa Apate
Tried it last night with my Mes, got to level 2 before I had to quit. Tried again today and got interrupted a few times, no problem there. But I have a problem of missing my Spirit Bonds and boom, dead. Did end up with a funny 666 hp after that. xD
I'll go and practice some more and return with a screenie of her at the end chest. =P Adriaanz#Shiro
So, this works in Shards of Orr too?
~Shiro A Simple Farmer
Updated page with some Vidz and new warrior build & Mesmer Build, will post Ranger and Para soon...

~Shiro I don't think so, shards of Orr is very difficult. It's possible, but you'd have to specialize the character and build. From what I rememeber there's a lot of interupts and knockdowns. I used my monk and ogden. Avatar Exico
This might or will work in Ooze Pit. Just need a Runner to get there.

dumb question but, is NM a good way to learn this build, or is it best just to jump into HM?
KennyC
for those having problems fighting the spiders without mesmer secondary - walk backwards away from the spiders and re-cast spirit bond as the spiders move - they dont interupt you that way. (cant move and shoot can they)

~Shiro I've done the 2 monk version in shards of orr - you need fleeting stability on the tank or you are deader than tank tops. A much more fun way to do shards of orr is 8 monks. 4 arcane echo ray of judgement w/mindbender and 4 sig judgement smiters. you just go right through non stop to the end, no problem. Oblivious Moose
waiting for the para variant. maybe this wil spark some creativity into the minds of para users to come up with even more

as strange as at may seem, HM is easier in many cases becouse of the +50% attack speed making energy more manageble and killing your foes faster (before spellbreaker runs out) ofcourse this means you can also tank less monsters (12+) gonna be hard for the 1 sec cast time of SoA but that isn't a big problem, just aggro one group of enchanted weapons a time the rest should be fine
Lyssa Apate
I have a problem. Since the festival Ogden takes damage whenever I take damage. First I figured I had screwed up aggro.. but there was no one near Ogden. Then I thought it was the build (for some reason unknown to man) and went in with the original Me/Mo version, same result. Is it me or some hidden skill update or a bug?
Nevertheless, before the weekend updates I was succesful with the original Me/Mo build. (notice Ogden's dp? He ran wild when I released him and he ran back to the firespitters.. every single time x) ) Adriaanz#Shiro

Since I'm a Sin, I'd like to know if the Assassin version of this build would work in the Shards. I know that for Completing the dungeon, the way you said is perfect, (I play Assacaster there (lol me)), but for farming this would be nice to know ~Shiro OuMarou
