I have been playing GW for a couple of months now and I have all of the campaigns. I am playing prophecies and I was wondering if a newbie should play as a paragon. I think it would be good to play and I am excited about the class but still I want your opinions. Thank you

In my experiences, playing a paragon ends up to be really easy. Throw up "There's Nothing to Fear!," add in "Save Yourselves!," along with adrenaline gain boosters with an IAS, and it ends up being Guild Wars on "c-space hit your skills on recharge and win" mode.

Overall though, I do enjoy playing my paragon. Much more than many of my other characters.

I encourage you to give paragons a try.

awsome AL means you dont take as much damage .. lots of health = can take more damage .. your always further away from the melee = your unlikely to aggro ..good teamwide support = they are less likely to get wiped ... so if you want to aim for survivor .. it gets my vote, o and they arnt too bad with a spear either

Found para to be extremely boring in PvE.

I think since everyone has different likes/dislikes, it's best to try everything you wonder about at least once.

Unless it's breaking a law or...something. :P

Do you like throwing sticks around?
Do you like shouting?
Do you like wearing a skirt?

If you answered 'Yes' to all 3 make a Paragon.

Paragon females look hot for one

But seriously most of the positive comments here are right. I made a P and thought her lame at first so I deleted her. Then my guild leader started using his lvl 20 P. I was impressed so I created a new one. She is now lvl 20 with a few different elite skill builds. I think she is a blast to play and very versatile.

Personally, I didn't find a lot of the P skills very good, but the ones that are good are really useful and cool.

If you like being able to fight somewhat at range (while still carrying a shield) and simultaneously giving your party benes; Paragons are the class.

I made one and it was awesome at first. But after a few months I deleted my Para because I couldn't find a use for it. But you should definitely make one to try it out.

Paragons are definately powerful.
Now, I do not personally like playing them. I prefer casters and melee characters to midrange characters. If you like rangers or support necros, you'll probablly like paragons. They don't play the same, but they are the closest to doing so.

If you want /godmode in pve, you should definitely make one. (save yourselves + there is nothing to fear as mentioned above)

My paragon has gone through all 3 campaigns, and has died the least of all my characters. They can make your party very hard to wipe-out in pve. Ive seen my party get a three group aggro (dam henches) and have only a few guys die, just to be ressed. Paragon can make your party an endruance group and eventually you outlast the bad guys.

If you dont like the shout para only supporting your team, make a hybrid of some shout protections and some spear damage/condition to make it a bit more fun. I personally liked the paragon, although check out his ax swinging, hahaha. Try him out.

I answered yes to the second two questions because I'm not really that into throwing the spear I wish that it could be a melee weapon because that would be sweet. All in all I think trying paragon would be good for me. I won’t try it soon though because my Video card was causing monitor trouble but in about a month or two from now I’ll be back after my computer is repaired and upgraded.

Could just be from scotland No offense

Any way

Paragons are fun to try out. It is fun to have the armor and range and they have great energy return when using shouts etc…

Any toon can use any weapons, but each has there strong side :

casters : stand back and fight, have awesome looking spells.
melee : gets right in the thick of it, tons of action.
ranged : mostly stands back, very versatile.
healer : you will be looking at health bars alot, not to exciting,
but can be very gratifying to play and easy to get into groups.

I would try them all and see what kind of action appeals the
most.

Cool thank you. The only reason I wouldn't be a healer is because I hate having that much responsibility on World Of Warcraft I hated playing priest because I would lag at a critical moment.

I personally wouldn't suggest a paragon to start with, maybe try one of the core professions, such as the traditional warrior and maybe the ranger if you like that long ranged damage .

He's already been playing for a couple of months, with a necromancer from what I gather of his profile. Long enough for a paragon, imo.

Found playing Paragon extremely dull. Good to have in your team, just boring to play.
