How well does Awe + Coward Work?
Mr Pvper
I was wondering how well these two mix
[card]Awe[/card] [card]"Coward!"[/card]
I've been trying this combo and it provides constant dazing on a caster target if and only if the person is running (which means u need damage to support Coward).
How well does this combo truely work anwyays
would like some feedback

That's too conditional in my opinion.

Can just run Spear Swipe.
At least you don't have to require Coward/KD.
The person will probably be kiting if there is no Draw/RC, so more openings for KD.
Bad thing is that Swipe has a longer recharge. So daze can't be kept on permanently. But I don't think a monk is going to stay alive if they have Daze on them and are being beat on by melee.

Spear Swipe is too noticeable... I mean, as a Monk, what are you going to do when a Paragon with a Spear comes running at your face? WTB Guardian + Return.

I don't see how that would really accomplish anything at all. Even if they are thrown off because the paragon for some reason doesn't have a spear equipped, that will trick them maybe once.

In PvP, yeah...
But keep in mind, this is The Campfire, for PvE dicussion.
In PvE, enemy casters don't really move, they just die. Like, really fast. The only people you would get Coward to trigger on would be the melee, and why would you want to daze them?
Even if you somehow managed to catch an enemy caster moving, this seems like a pretty stupid way to apply Dazed, you'd be better off with Stunning Strike.... or Broad Headed Arrow.

It's a GWG forum feature brought to you by the good folks at the [SoF] guild. Here's a thread explaining them:

edit: The skill descriptions have not been updated since Nightfall, so you still must click the links for the correct description.

In PvE, coward is a horrible elite.
In PvP, this could be alright in RA/AB, like pretty much anything.

would like some feedback I tried it in the past, it doesn't work as well as stunning strike, you need to think about the fact that most caster enemies run away from you if they are being hit rather than towards you, so when you use coward! you still need to spend some time running towards the KD foe, as KD is only 2 seconds long, the chances are you won't get there in 1.25 seconds to cast awe on them.
In other words you need to be relatively close, and then you have to wait for them to move before you can KD. Also, you need to remember you could be in the middle of an attack skill animation when they move, which would mean you don't cast awe immediately after a KD (unless you press escape then hit the awe key quickly).
Anyway, yes it does work, but it involves a lot more skill than hitting both buttons to get it to work successfully a large percentage of the time. It certainly has advantages over daze attacks, as it works if you are blinded & ignores blocking. (but you won't get the main advantage of daze if you can't hit the target anyway).
[edit - This is all PvP related]

Anyway, if you're willing to use up an Elite slot for a dazed combo, why not just use Skull Crack?? Now, you have 7 slots left. Skull Crack is a melee attack, won't work with spears.
