Ectos.. How cheap and how high?

Ive been sitting in ToA last 2 days now watching the ecto price range, got me thinking do people really sell ectos @ 4.5K ea?

Would this be a good thing to powersell? Whats highest they go? 5K?

They were at 4.3 or so about a month ago. They will go up again no doubt.

Last time I paid attention to any prices was just before WoH got buffed. I remember because that's when I stopped going to ToA as 600/Smite FoW HM got extremely lame after that. Shards were 1.7k (and now are 2.1k) and ectos were 4.5k (they're still 4.5k).

Not that great for power-selling unless you actually farm them though, which then it isn't really power-selling at all.

Ecto =min u can buy = 4.5k and u can sell for 5k in kamadan

Not rly.. They have been 5.5k @ trader for a few months now.

OP: Yes, I guess it's possible to trade with them. You wont make that much though.

i go from the prices at the traders
if an ecto is for example 5.5k for buying at rare material trader and 4.3k for selling at trader i always take a good price between those to numbers
in this case i would take about 4.8k or 5

You will occasionally see people try to sell for more, but this has been the mean for awhile.

I do see Shards jumping up and down more often than Ecto, but at 2.2k average, who cares about Shards.

Exactly. Every once in a while, I get to buy them at 4.5K (usually 1 or 2 at a time), but for the most part people spam them for 5K and no one buys. I'd say that the stabilized price is somewhere between 4.7K and 4.8K.

The same was true when they were worth 7.5k to 8k. This has been the rule of ecto selling for a while. If you are buying, it really helps if you have a lot of sellers and no buyers in the district (that way, you can make people compete for your buisness), so getting lucky showing up at the right time helps.

Some stubborn people would refuse to sell to me for 7.5k. A week later, I'd have my FoW armor and they'd still be spamming WTS ecto 8k each.
I bet they wish they had sold them to me for 7.5k a few weeks later when the price started to plummet.

When I bought my monk's FOW a few weeks ago, I bought all my ecto at 4.5k or less... and experienced the same thing you talk about.

Two seconds later.... someone pms me and sells me them for 4.5k

I then sold them for 4.7k and bought another 105k for 4.5k from the same trader... haha.

I find it helpful too that I clear UW daily... I get a steady stream of ecto coming in, so I don't pay too much attention to the pricing unless I start going for a mini or a r8/r7 item.

We'll see what the prices are after we lose all this favour...
