My pet disappeared

I'm in pre-searing and I had a pet. I then started exploring other secondary professions because, as I was told, right now it's all free and there's plenty of XP. So I learned some elementalist skills. Then I realized my pet was gone. I assume I lost him after I died and was resurrected and was no longer a ranger in training. I'm still exploring the other professions. I assume that when I'm finished with the other professions and I sign up as a ranger, I will get my pet back? I know I will get back the ranger skills I learned before but what about my pet, or will I have to charm a new one? There were 2 of those stalkers in the area to charm, so if I have to charm another one, there should still be 1 there.

erm, have yo spoken to the woman who takes pets? if you have then you wont get it back, ermm... i sugest you get another pet. i dont realy think you can lose them off dying or my heroes would have no pets... they die alot.

Talking and giving your pet to a NPC Pet Tamer is the only to lose your pet for good. Your last charmed pet will appear when you have the Charm Animal skill on your bar and go outside (e.g. out of town/outpost).

@OP you wrote that you changed your secondary in Pre. Im guessing you changed from secondary Ranger to something else and lost your charm animal skill on your bar.

You only get a pet if you are ranger primary or secondary and have the skill "Charm Animal" on your skillbar. Without this skill your pet is still charmed for you, but it wont be with you in the exploreable part of the game. As soon as you put the skill back on, your pet will be there again.

You MUST have the skill "Charm Animal" in your skillbar in order to make your pet appear.
So i guess you changed your secondary and lost the skill by doing so.
Yes, you will get the skills and pet back once you take Ranger as secondary again.

Yes, as long as you keep [skill]charm animal[/skill] in your skillbar after you switch back to Ranger.

Nope, that's how it works. Unless a tamer takes your pet permanently, you will always have your pet when you equip charm animal. Also, if you lose charm animal while in an instance (like if you switch secondaries or have a special skill take its place, you will keep your pet until you zone).

When given to a tamer, it's gone for good.
Otherwise, you have to be a Ranger (primary or secondary) with the skill Charm Animal on to be able to allow your pet to come with you.
