I'm just wondering, and if gaile could be the first person to post, how strict is Anet's copyrights?
Because I looked into a fighting game crossover called Super Smash Bros. Brawl, will be released in U.S. soon, that consists of different characters from different franchise (Nintendo is the big maker of this series). And i pictured Vekk using the stupid homerun-bat K'Oing Mario in my head. Anyways, it's stupid. If it happens that another company would come in and ask if they could use Mhenlo, Lina, Gwen, Vekk, etc. for a game as a crossover, I'm pretty sure Gaile would respond with a simple no. But I'm not sure how strict the copyrights are when it comes to Guild Wars, but the chances of Vekk appearing in another game would be 0%.
i wonder how strict ANet's copyrights are when it comes to GW?

But I hope GW would be referenced in a TV show, then I would go lol.

Again, their copyrights may be strict. although squaresoft, the guys who made Final fantasy, got copyrights from Disney.

Sonic and Solid Snake have shown up on the Gamecube and Gameboy.
Many people have been wanting Megaman, since Megaman has appeared on just about every Nintendo made console, but I don't think the called up Inafune...
ANYWAY....I think Anet should expand the GW universe with more games/novels/comics/toys before trying out cross-franchise projects.

OP isn't talking about companies with "loose copyrights". All those companies are getting paid big-time for allowing their IPs to be used in Super Smash Bros. They never do it out of "the goodness of their hearts" or because they "aren't strict with their copyrights".
You can be sure that the makers of Super Smash Bros. didn't dare include any character in their game until they first got all the legal contracts signed to be able to do so, and including the payment arrangements to the IP holders for the use of those characters.
A yes or no would never be determined by "personal feelings". It would be determined by dollars.

Ah Mario! <3 <3
I know we're really careful about what is called our "IP" or intellectual property. We don't want to see ticky-tacky things with Guild Wars on them, after all. But we're definitely open to considering quality ideas, and I'd guess that novels would be something to which we'd give a good deal of thought.
As to cross-game promotions, I have no idea if we have been asked, nor if we would be asked, but I imagine such an idea would also be given some thought.
Guild Wars Underoos? Probably out of the question.

GW_VCD_CN.jpg
'Cause during my travels to remote places in China, I sometimes see in cheesy music stores GW's sexy girls in the cover of VCDs, music CDs and even 'ol cassettes.
The attached picture was taken some months ago just to prove how much sensation our girls are havin'...

By the way, the music sucks... got cheated due to the lure in question

The stipulations for third party characters in Brawl were:
1. They must be a well known character.
2. They must have, at some point appeared on a Nintendo console game.
Frankly, I'm very glad they stayed away from things like Final Fantasy. While Cecil or Kain might have been neat, the fanboy characters would have been very annoying. Snake and Sonic are pretty awesome to have there, but they don't need to go overboard with it. The only other third party character I would have liked to see (who didn't have a chance) would have been Master Chief, just so we could have all the console "mascots" in one game. :P
Mario. vs Sonic. vs Snake. vs Master Chief.

But seriously, it's kinda redundant to see vekk using a homerun bat.
