The Prophet
xb0vv
This is my suggestion for the Prophet, please take your time to read and consider my ideas, thanks.
The prophet is the cross between a monk and an ele, mustering power from the gods and releasing it in large scale areas for the benefit of your team, or for the destruction of your enemies. The prophet lives his life by seeking stronger bonds with his Gods and experiencing the divine, which he does by meditating, praying and worshiping. He is a mythical being, living high o mountain tops to be conserve his power. Unlike the monk, the prophet uses the power of the Gods to his advantage, casting tornadoes, volcanoes and massive water waves to engulf his enemies.
The story of the prophet goes well back to the ancient times when it was discovered that divine power can be used in mortals as well. Those who wanted to use it for good only, branched off to heal the wounded; whereas prophets used their extreme power to overcome enemies with scare tactics such as 'illusory armies'.
Prophets will cast 'Summoning spells' , where the enemy is scared or de-moralised by a certain event. An example would be:
'Ghost Flank' Summoning spell. For 20 seconds, target enemy and all enemies in the area will be flanked by 6-12 ghostly beings. When struck by a ghostly being, target will be scared and demoralized, losing -1 energy regen and -1 health regen. (These beings do little physical damage)
As well as casting 'summoning' spells, the prophets main attribute is of course to foresee the future or to have 'prophecies'. Prophecy spells will consist of seeing what your enemy will do next. Normally, prophecy spells will have the power to foresee bigger events, such as a meteor shower or a earthquake. If a prophecy spell is cast, the whole area will be immune to the predicted spells or action, making the prophet a paramount backup protection monk.
An example would be:
'I foresee fire!' Prophetic shout. For 4-6 seconds, target ally and all allies in the area are protected against all fire damage and burning. This shout causes exhaustion.
The prophet will wield a Great Staff, almost twice the size of a normal staff and will be two handed. In order to successfully play the Prophet, one must be skilled in the art of not getting interrupted, and conserving energy, the rewards will be great.
There is more art and graphics to be posted in the future, these are my ideas for now. But i have no doubt that guild wars is crying out for such a class.
Thanks

nice idea i like it, but you mentioned it yourself: Its a cross profession, so the lore does'nt really fit with e/mo's or mo/e's

Good idea though.

Anyway I think that is where this could be pealed off off monks a little.
There is not need for prophets form the 5+1 gods, they have avatars at shrines, leaving little to be desired in communication.
However if prophets where prophets of a new faith, they'd take a big step towards independence.
The white mantle and their unseen gods, and the charr worshiping Titans and Destroyers, shows the GW lore's take on alternative religions.
So instead of

How about spawning a single [wiki]Nightmare (Kryta)[/wiki] that deals no damage but causes that degen effect.
Or give them imps as type of ranged pets, that would look pretty cool as well.
Or both each dependent on a different attribute portraying a different religion.
The prophesy skills would still go well with that, I'm confused about why their staff is twice the size of other staves, do they need to compensate for something, or something?

Although this is a bit monk-like, possibley a great proffession for GW2 . I could imagine some sort of Prophet-like priest or somthing among atleast one of the classes. I love the skill ideas, and the whole idea of Great damage, although large energy cost. ( ugh.. sounds like Water magic for elelemntalists, except without the great damage for the water spells ... >_< ).
