Video Editor/Maker

Hi there,

I'm on the look for a cheap/free basic video editor.

Atm i've got Windows Movie Maker from media center version of XP, however whenever i add a video from import onto the actual video it massively decreases the video quality.

I've searched the help menu's and options extensively but can't find a way to change it.

I'd like a program that just allows me to crop clips together, with a few basic effects and the ability to add writing and sound etc.

Suggestions welcome!

Agreed. I go there whenever I need something new or just to get a feel for something. Decent reviews from both the site and the users.
