A survivor title question, need some advice

Okay, I decided today to start a monk character in Prophicies, with a twist; I'm going for a survivor title for the first time. I've been reading through the guides and available material, and I feel I'm prepared for the journey ahead.

This afternoon I sort of did a dry run with another character, I quickly went through the basics of Pre-Searing, got to level 4, then went through the Academy. I messed up on my secondary profession because I decided to be creative, but I didn't want it to be a wasted effort. So I thought I'd look at the mechanics of the entire Pre-to-Post process. I decided to just just go through to Post-Ascalon, delete that character, then start a new one.

Now therein lies the problem. In going through the academy, I was placed in a team of level 3 henchmen characters while facing a group of four humans. Three of which where above level 6. Needless to say I recieved a pretty good thrashing, and the burgeoning survivor title I had on that character was lost in about ten seconds.

My question is, to other survivor title goers, how do you prevent this from happening? My new character is level 6 now after I rerolled, but I still don't feel comfortable going through the academy with its inherent randomness. The only solution I can think of is to offer the opposing team 1k each if they leave me alone and I go sit in a corner, but A) that seems like cheating and B) you know there'd be somebody in there who would kill me just for laughs.

Anyhoo it's just a question I thought I'd pose to the community. Any advice would be appreciated.

I believe that if you log out, and log back in a minute or so later, you'll be in the part where you have to kill Vatlaaw Doomtooth.

But I can't remember if you can just log out, or that you have to trick GW into thinking you were disconnected (just use Task Manager for that).

As Vix said, just logout when the Academy part starts and then when you login again you will have skipped that bit and you can continue without danger.

I recall For some reason, the game skipped the PvP part straight to Rurik's tutorial against the charr.

I also remember disconnecting during the pvp part, when I come to reconnect I always get a err007 even with a perfect no lag internet :/

Yeah....that'll work. They'll never notice that they're only fighting three henchmen.

Well that, and I noticed that in the academy you don't have the henchmen controls so I'd be hard to flag them.

Thanks for he help guys. I was just wondering though, how do I disconnect myself? Just unplug my internet cable and replug it in after the two minute fighting interval?

You just logout. You don't have to disconnect, just logout.

Nope, all you need to do is either hit the "X" in the upper right hand side or log out from your menu when you go into that part. Hope that helps and good luck with the survivor title, i got legendary but it takes forever.

Immediately after my last post I created a quick character to test just logging out. It worked like you guys said, so my Monk is now in Post. I would suggest that this method be added into the Wiki guide if there is anyone looking here who contributes to Wiki.

And please, please don't take your survivor on a run from Beacons to Droks ^^ I saw 2 survivors, monks in fact, die at the door to Dreadnought Drift because others being run agg'd the patrols... Sad, sad to watch a survivor who has come so far die so miserably!
