Really I got an unded Oni on christmass day for 100k+ 63 ectos. If its worth tripple that, then I got a VERY good deal. The only thing I've seen shoot up in price is the factions special ed pet. Which now seems to go for around 100K+50E.

what caused it is many people have realized to dedicate those rare or semi rare mini pets in HoM for GW2, so i think thats why their price have gone up quite a bit

Inflation has taken off.
I don't really know why, but the value of gold is depreciating fast. Most people probably don't notice, as the mudflation ("item inflation") means that most items also drop in price, but one can tell by what happens to the price of rare commodities.

Another factor is the dedication, which effectively is an item-sink for undedicated minipets, meaning the supply of undedicated high-end pets is reduced (and prices rise).

The magazine promotion thingy a few months back added a lot of these rare mini's into the market in a very short space of time so the prices dropped. The promotion ended, no more new rares hit the market, some get dedicated and so the price now goes up again. The only mini's that hold/drop their value really are the ones which are constantly being added to the market. The super rare ones like the shiroken or oni are only available in very limited numbers and as those numbers go down (because people buy and keep/dedicate them) the prices go up.

Sumink like dat anyway

Its to do with HoM and the fact that there is a limited number of the rare asian mini's to dedicate. I'm still not sure whether to dedicate my yeti.

It makes me laugh when I see people trying to up the price of regular mini's. A perfect example:

Most of his s/b's are standard b/o prices.

One single word:

DEDICATION.

If you remove the existing ones from the market and there are no unlimitd sources of them, the rest become much more rare.

Soon there will be almost impossible to get a Kuunavang. Since even those without the Collector Edition could get one by paying to others, even collector miniatures should have unlimited sources. Maybe with soopah-uber-rare drops in the Zaishen chest or the original creature the miniature resembles.

Maybe it's time for the Tyrian, Canthan and Elonian Federal Banks to step in and do something.

Oh, they are. All the "elite" armors and weapons are progressive money sinks, ie sinks intended to not affect poor/new players, but drain the coffers of rich/veteran players. Every norn/monument/bandana etc armor means quite a lot of gold is removed from circulation.

It just seems as if the increased farming outstrips the new money sinks.

Incidentally, I'm trying to buy a Gwen. It's pretty obvious the guide price from Ventari Sell doesn't hold any more; the cheapest unded I've had offered was the equivalent of 350K.

all i can say about GW money inflation is... thank god there is no housing market.

too bad there is no "Bank of Tyria" (hint hint: bank of america) to set the economy back on track.

Current Event Backround: bank of america might be the bank that saves america's economy. go ahead and laugh everyone that doesn't live here, but in the end, we have health care :]
