New Drop Begining on Valentine's Day

I would like to see a new drop. Valentine's Day would be the perfect time for them to add it. It's about time they added Pink Dye (and other colors, perhaps... aqua/turquoise springs to mind.)

I can already hear the complaints. There are some people who are content to leave their armor the default ugly greenish-gray and believe that dye is a waste of money. There are others that say "why don't you just mix dyes to get the color you want?"

Well to the people who don't care about dye, all I can say is go to another thread. It's a matter of taste. Some people WANT their characters to look good, or at least different, so for them it's not a waste of money. (I've seen others in basic green-gray FoW armor ~ what's up with that? )

For those who think I can MIX any color I want, think again.

Ever since the inception of the DYE PREVIEWER, dyes no longer mix logically or even well. The SINGLE dye colors are nicer and more vibrant than they used to be, but mixes suck. Pink being the most asked-for color that can no longer be created. (Yes, SOME armors, most notably METALS or very light-colored stuff can still attain pink. But most cloth and leather armor is more "puke" than pink.)

With GW2 as the main focus of the design teams nowadays, I have given up on the idea that they will ever fix dye mixing. So give us a bigger selection of basic colors to choose from at the Dye Trader! That should be easy enough.

The biggest gripe is going to be "but then I'll need more storage".

I'd prefer a better method of mixing to get the colors desired.

And .... my (male) ranger has pink.

Yes, of course. But as I mentioned, they aren't likely to fix it with GW2 on the way. I figure more crayons in the box is their cheapest, fastest way to make people happy.

They blew it, whoever programmed the Dye Previewer. They know NOTHING about how colors mix in real life. Shouldn't Red+White be pink? Try it and tell me what YOU think that color should be called.

The basic color for all armor should be WHITE, not gray. That would make dye more consistent from one armor set to the next. (I mix and match armor sets, and some dye differently than others). Besides, an all-gray world is not very colorful. I miss all the green bartenders (male Mesmers) running around!

Heck... why can't we choose from one of the base dye colors when we initially buy our armor (just like when we create our character in the first place) instead of having to have that ugly gray? THPPTT!

rather then having a new color why not a whole "encyclopedia" of dye? thats why I want this to be implemented in GW2 TOME OF DYE!

The whole dye system was cocked up when they added dye preview and removed dye mixing. Now, colour mixes go kinda 'myeh', the new black dye is a horrible matt colour that kills detail, and certain colours seem to be no longer attainable.

Rather than adding colours like pink (which generally comes out baed under the current system), just rejig the whole colour thing - keep dye previews, but make the dyes attained through preview the same as the colour you'd create with mixed vials of dye.

And re-add dye remover.

You can already made that with different combinations of red, white and purple and other dyes depending on armor.

I'd rather fix the current dye system so they do not get messed and do not work differently depending on armor than adding pink dye. I'm not against new dyes... but I'm against PINK. I hate pink.

Ooo I'd love to see pink dye! But there is the fact that some armors can be dyed pink by combining other dyes, plus pink die could be as much as black. But I'll still /sign.

i'm not gonna wear pink armor but other new colors would be worthwhile checking out

Basically, I don't see the point, when you can make pink dye with other dye combinations.

I didn't see the point of making White Dye when white could be made perfectly fine with 3 silvers + yellow.

This would be a good idea if there was no dye mixing in the game, but since there is, this is a bad idea.

If this idea is implemented, although I do not see why it would be, it would end up just like the White Dye, it will be 40k+ for the first week, and then by week #2, it will be down to 750g.

The point is that mixing creates a good pink on some armors, but a puke color on others (Same thing with the white mixing you mentioned). We want "pure" pink, much like we've got "pure" white.

I'd definitely like to see pink dye added, and valentines day would be the perfect time to add it, as it could be a relatively common drop, thus lowering the insane prices it would no doubt reach upon being added. Remember Nightfall, when White Dye went for upwards of 90k?

My only issue is that, by adding pink dye, you're basically slapping the faces of those that actually collected or bought red, white, or other colors to make dye. Someone gets pink, and another person who bought red, white, and whatever else would be needed, would feel cheated.

As others have pointed out, the whole dye system needs to be fixed. Red should appear the same regardless of what armor it's ok, and dye combinations should be universal; 1 red + 1 white = 2 pink (the volume of the dye shouldn't magically halve, either).

Why not making a quest and get reward for your lovers such as teddy bear and such ^_^" To girls who play GW? Maybe lol!
