The amount of damage that 10 armor reduces from other sources is well worth the extra damage taken from Holy Damage...

if you want then just run full survivors

Also MM insignia is kinda paradoxical; if there are 10 bone minions frolicking around then every monster and its mother will attack those bone minions due to their low level and health. It's when you have no minions up that you need to worry about being attacked directly, and that's when you need the extra armor.

To each his own, I still feel that 10 armor can be achieved through other insignia without such heavy penalties when faced against smiters and dervishes.

Quote: if you want then just run full survivors Survivors protects through a totally different concept, it requires your monk to keep on healing, while armor constantly protects. Besides, survivors on a sac build means your necro has to sac more life.

The pro for using survivors is that health protects against everything since armor can be ignored or penetrated. Therefore I still agree with sab that having survivors on everything else, other than chest and legging, can be a good idea. Since most of your beating are going to be in the chest and legging areas, these areas need armor boosting insignia. Having survivors on the other armor pieces would boost your overall hp.

It's when you have no minions up that you need to worry about being attacked directly, and that's when you need the extra armor. You forgot that you only need 3 minions (not 10), to equal the +10 armor from tormentors. Furthermore, it has the potential to up the armor to +15 if the MM has at least 5 minions. Since you get 2 bone minions per corpse per cast, getting up to at least 3 minions only requires 2 corpses. A MM with a superior death rune can maintain up to 10 minions and Jagged Bones gives each of them a second life, so effectively it is more like 20 minions, the MM is pretty safe as far as maintaining the number of minions is concerned, as long as there are available corpses.

If the area has almost no corpses, you wouldn't be bringing the MM hero anyway and sab build falls apart in those areas since sab build relies heavily on constant minion death to fuel soul reaping. Remember: Sab build itself is heavily reliant on minions.
