Undedicated vs. Dedicated?

Whats the difference? I've been away from GW for a while, so im confused as to what it means for something to be dedicated or not... help?

Minipets when added to the Hall of Monuments become dedicated. They then can't be added by another player.

Price of em goes down a lot when dedicated, it will say if its dedicated in the description.

Not so. Dedicated pets are still sellable, but price is 1/3rd or less of that of an undedicated pet.
Which is a bit weird, as the only difference is that the new buyer can't add them to his Hall of Monuments.

Well, thats just it, its assumed now that when you buy a mini-pet, you just want to put it in your HoM. Which, yes, doesnt make sense if someone's looking for a dedicated pet, they only have to pay that 1/3rd.
