I bought one a few weeks ago from a local EBGames.
Then a few days later went to another EBGames, they had two or three NIghtfall Collectors (still sealed) and two Factions Collectors (still sealed) sitting on the shelf collecting dust.
They are still out there.

I went to a best buy and couldnt get just the regular factions, they only had the collector's.

By definition "collectors" items are limited in quantity. Once they are all sold they are done. They haven't been "discontinued" they just stoped making them after a certain period of time (as they had planned to do, dicontinued implies that it was an unexpected recall).

there was only a small amount made when they made them and they arent going to make any more....all there are are the ones that are out there. (though factions had 2 runs if memory serves me right, because of a snafu---so there were a few more of them out there than they were going to make originally).

The snafu was that they didn't produce enough copies to fill the all the orders from the retailers. There was enough outcry from the fanbase for them to make a second batch.
