Hells bonus seer

I wanted to respond to the thread started by toon a loon re the ancient seer in hell precipice sometimes being killed off but it was closed...Id say you didnt get a fair answer.
Ive been helping out in that mission for a very long time...people get stuck there for ages for one reason or another. Now I usually take 2 players through using heros and hench (including 2 hench monk). Now as you approach the coast up a hill (typically this is where inexperienced groups get taken to the cleaners) you come across a group of sparks and hulks with the seer further down to your right just on radar.
It is this group that I think toon is referring to and sometimes they spawn very close to the seer. On aggroing them if they have spawned to close they immidiately run down to the seer and kill him as fast as they can. Sometimes a monk can save him but more often than not he dies before anyone can possibly get there, this being especially true if you rely on hench monks as I do.
I always warn anyone with me that this happens and it is no real problem as its not that far into the mission so we can just restart. Id say it happens about 1 in 10 trips on average and is simply a spawn problem that I have no doubt could be sorted out but has been like it since I started playing over 2 years ago.
It is very difficult if not impossible to save the seer...It has nothing to do with the burning titan near him..he only attacks when you get within a certain range. I hope this helps in at least that I do agree..there is a small problem there which can be annoying for people who are going for bonus and are with a pick up group who wont restart.

Ithasnothingtodowithwordsbutratherparagraphs. This is what the text looks like. Just use paragraphs, put new lines between a few sections of text.

Wrong section for this thread? Should be in Tyria's forum?

Is this a "writers guild" discussion forum or what?

OP: Try to present your thoughts better. You will know when you did it right when people start to troll your points and not grammar of formating.

Only thing I learned is that experienced GW players could possible have problems with the mission.

This mission bonus is easy, even in HM.

Keep the Seer out of your radar range, because he tends to get attacked soon as you can see him.

Pull the mobs before the seer away using a Longbow, kill them. Then just run to the Seer, aggro the Titan and heal him... its not hard. I don't see the problem here.

No pb, that happens to all of us and unfortunately we forgot to thank you for the useful post for those who don't already know this.

GW wiki has also useful information on this topic:

Bonus

Acquiring the bonus in this mission is harder than completing it. To acquire the bonus you need to follow the green path to point 1 on the map. At the point where the green path splits from the red one you will encounter a Burning Titan and a Titan Boss who will walk towards you shouting strange words ("Shith Mal Hacto!"). This will summon mobs from the immediate surrounding area to their position, clearing the path towards the bonus. Just stay well away from the now very strong group of opponents who will slowly wander southeast.

At point 1 you will find a Burning Titan and an Ancient Seer who will give you the bonus. You need to take it slowly; make sure to take out the group of Ashen Hulks and Sparks in front before getting near to the Burning Titan and the Seer. Do not rush for the Seer. Upon approaching, the Seer will engage the Burning Titan. Although the Titan doesn't fight back, the Seer will take damage from burning. If you don't take care of the group of Hulks and Sparks before this happens, the Seer will very likely die. Speak with the Seer and you will get the bonus objective.

When you acquire the bonus, three Armageddon Lords spawn at point 2 in the lava pools from which many titans emerge. Once the second boss comes from the lava, no more mobs will spawn, making it safe to pull and kill the Armageddon Lords. Their damage-dealing capacity isn't much to worry about and they drop quite quickly. As the Armageddon Lords are not bosses, you can expect them to have the usual chain of spawning (Armageddon Lord → Risen Ashen Hulk → Hand+Fist of the Titans) after they are defeated. Note that the three Armageddon Lords are not linked, and that their spawns need not be killed to achieve the bonus.

Tip: When you save the Seer, you do not need talk to him immediately. This will cause the bonus to be triggered earlier than you may want it. At the area where the Armageddon Lords appear, there is a pool of lava which will spawn several hands and fists of the titans and three bosses, over a long period of time. If you do not trigger the bonus, the Armageddon Lords will not be there and you can kill the normal titans as they spawn. Then you can return to the seer and trigger the bonus, which causes the lords to spawn, then you can kill them. If you do not do this you may have to wait for the monsters to stop spawning to kill the Lords. All the creatures that spawned will gather en masse at the portals making them take slightly longer to kill.

Note: If the Seer dies before completion of the bonus you will not receive credit for the bonus even if you kill the Armageddon Lords.

I don't quite understand the frustration with this mission and its bonus. It really is remarkably easy and 9/10 times which I have attempted this mission with either pugs or AI has been successful.

You very simply DON'T get too close to the seer when you kill the creatures when are before him.

They have never spawned as close to the seer as your suggesting for me. They always spawn a nice enough distance that you can kill them and still have enough time to run to him and help.

And even if it fails... is it really that much inconvenience to just restart?

Its not a long mission to just do again. Your only talking maybe 5-10 minutes to find him again and get it done.

Nevertheless sometimes they do spawn to close...unless its been fixed very recently...it is often mistaken for bad aggro...but in reality the group is closer than normal to the seer...and they run off and attack...you will only notice it if you do the mission alot...as I have

Perhaps you should get a Wiki account or make a request that the information on that wiki page be updated. Then, people will 'know' of there being the possibility of this bug.

Good idea..no need though..I just checked and someone mentions it in the discussions page...it really is a matter of a bad spawn..alot of players never see it cos they are simply lucky...but if you do the mish regularly as I do...you will come across it from time to time.

No, it's not a writer's guild but posters are expected to write in a way that everyone can understand.

Which is exactly why I closed the other one and why I'm closing this one.
