For a minion master, yes it is the best secondary.
You get heal area/healing ring/etc.

For SS Mesmer is preferable. You will enventually be able to have both, so get monk if you are mostly MM and mesmer if mostly curses.

this guy is a strange one....but to answer your question, i always preferred mesmer to echo SS.. but monk for rebirth is also my 2nd fave

monk is alright. use blood of the master to heal minions, you just need a skill to heal yourself. monks skills can work. things like healing signet are also useful.

I believe dervish can also work well with minion masters by using mystic regeneration along with some enchantments on yourself (I forget which) to keep you and your minions alive. Of course, a N/D is only possible if you have Nightfall.

Didn't we already have a discussion about secondaries for necromancers in which the overall answer came out to be mesmer? Well anyway I personally go as a mesmer due to arcane echo. It is usfull with an MM for it can create minions faster and it is almost the definate choice for SS necros for copying spiteful spirit to allow faster application of it on tightly packed mobs.
I absolutely HATE MMs that use healing prayers for healing minions. I hate it that much that I'd even say that I'd rather go as a ranger.
