Block Trial Accounts from using Whisper

Since some idiot decided to merge every district so you can switch around, I have been signing in to EU and US districts and instantly, and I mean INSTANTLY, recieving gold-sale whispers. Now this isn't meant to be racist, or anything similar, but this has only started outside of International Districts since the Korean servers were linked with US/EU servers. Now since it would be harsh, and probably too much work for Anet-fu-gw-gw2-ftw's team to change this back, why not simply just disallow trial accounts from using local chat, trade chat or whisper.

Here are the reasons, and why it would work.

1) It would stop gold-sellers, which typically seem to be asian-based, from using Local Chat, Whisper or Trade Chat for selling their gold
2) It would NOT affect the play for people using trial accounts to see if they want to play GW. They can still access the game, and try out the missions and quests. Being able to interact with the GW players is not something that will affect their trial time. Infact hell, it might even convince them that the £15 GW:Proph costs is actually worth it.

Anyhoo, just a note from someone who is sick of gold sellers, and in particular, how little seems to be getting done about them.

I mean how does anyone whisper me before I've finished loading, on a PC with 2GB of memory. Come ON

I believe a similar system is in place in WoW, and it works quite well. No whispers...they have to manually invite you into a group to advertise, and I for one don't usually accept invites from "Ssdf Osdfnsg"

Edit: Or re-introduce Pablo's old crash bug for people to send to bots for when they just won't take the hint, crashing their client.

Yes i'll loved that in WoW-trial i cannot whisper to my friend to talk about game and how to play it. Yeah i loved it that in MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER game i could not try contacting other people when playing trial. Yeah block all whispers from gw, they suck.

Blocking whisper wouldnt block team chat.... Just gives the trial person more incentive to by the game. Of course this is only if the trial accounts are indeed the source of the gold spammers.

I understand gold sellers are annoying, but it's not your problem. They shouldn't be able to ruin the gameplay, even for those who haven't actually bought the game yet and if they only want to try it out.

You could as well say "Trail accounts aren't allowed to choose other profession than a *Insert your favorite/least favorite* profession here and they shouldn't be expressing their opinions/teaming up with other people/trade with other people"

SS and report.

Amen, this would probably be the best solution, hell if I load in Kamadan I get a whisper BEFORE the guild announcement.

However, some people would like to try the game with their friends, how can they do that without whispering?
Maybe it's possible to allow whispers (on trial accounts) only if your friend has you in his friend list... that would be nice.
You're not going to add one of those bots to your friends list, are you?

The problem with these guys is that they wispher and as soon as you get into the district they are gone or have figured out how to modify GW to know when someone has arrived to a particular town and wispher inmediately. I tried to report the account countless times with no success, since you have to be in the same district as the person you want to report. Tried to change district to find the bot only to find out that I cant find him in any of the districts.
Is like they skip to another town. Now you get the wispers in any town. That's getting really annoying. I have in my block list like 10 names. I wish Anet comes up with a system to report gold sellers.

Ban whisper only for trial accounts

/signed. Nothing more annoying then getting whispers like "Go to www.-------.com and get one ecto if you buy 100k of gw gold."

Trial accounts can't whisper, AFAIK. The whispers are from "real" accounts hiding in a different district to avoid being reported, presumably using "spotterbots" to collect player names to whisper.

Such a limited post do you not understand how bad some people get these wispers??

Go ahead and give me your IGN and let me PM you with BUY GOLD FROM blah site for xx$ I will spam it to you every 10-15 mins (lets see how fast you stay loged in)

I get a wisper every 15-30 mins in 2-4 PM spams at a time.

I know of a few others that get 1 every 5-10 mins till they log off (these bots have hindered more then you know) most of the people that get them this often do not put up with it for long and just log out, (my question for you is why the hell should we have to log off to avoid these bots?)
Do not even say switch to DnD if you do thats even more of a limited response then the post.

Why should I have to go to DnD to avoid wispers from bots when I have 30 friends that pm me daily as well as 50 G members that chat with me (most through Pms)

The second paragraph is just WOW you are very simple minded. how is a profession hindering game play? does the ele spam gold websites to you?
does the monk heal you with ebay gold? Does the warrior kill you with GDPS (gold damg per second).

All everyone is asking is when you download the trial key it pops up with a window that says this "you are about to play a trial of Guild Wars this trial will last for xx hours across x days and you will not have the option to wisper people or use Local chat or Trade chat but you can use Team Chat These options are turned off for the trial when you buy the game all functions will be operating.
^^seems this way is the same a most free/shareware.

I love how many gold sellers and buyers quickly come to denounce all these types of suggestions.
I know Galie and others have said that this would hurt the effectiveness of free trials for honest usage,... but I don't care. I think it is a stupid idea to have free trials in the first place because it gives these bots the ability to operate. A happy medium between not having free trials at all would be to disable thier ability to spam.

You hear that a lot, do you?

Anyway, gotta agree with the mantra proposed earlier: the way to deal with whisperbots is to screenshot and submit a complaint at www.guildwars.com .

Why not just type /report and select the appropriate option: SPAMMING?

Or something similar, I reported a gold whisperer today this way.

The problem is, that doesn't DO anything. The bot gets banned, but since it is using a trial account, it just instantly creates another one (ie, its written into the code, it takes a bot like 20 seconds to create a new account, if that). And then it is back.
