Send item to chat

I like the send to chat option for builds it is easy to show your skills, etc... I was thinking would it not be great to be able to send an Item to chat? Send it to Trade type a little description and send it on its way (same picture you see if you put your mouse over the item in inventory). This would enable any other player in town if they wish to click on your link and look at the item you are selling. Think how much easier it would be to sell things.

Yes, but it would also require an update trade interface.

And you know how long it took them to make that more than half-assed "party-search" that is actually glorified sub-par trade interface.

Exactly like in WoW. I think it's an amazing feature. But as Longasc said, look at their party-search feature.

The reason why WoW have it is because their weapon have different and multiple effects. While in GW you only need to give out like 4-5 infos about the item you sell.

This is one brilliant feature I first saw in WoW that would be a great help for sellers. Suggested many times before, also in my big old Xunlai Trade Center idea thread, back when the local chat trade spam was a problem and allowing item links in trade chat only would be a great way to both make spamming local unatractive and make advertising your goods easier.

It'd be a good idea, but I forsee some pretty horrible trade spam problems. BUY THIS BUY THIS BUY THIS BUY THIS, etc. I don't know how WoW does it though, so it may work just fine.

This would fall under the category of "How can we make Guild Wars more like WoW?" And I don't think that's what the devs are aiming to do.

If you can make the trade chat more readable this way i say go for it!

No description in the chat, have the item post it's name as a link which on mouse over displays the stats.

Because mainly I only want to see info about items I'm interested in also it would reduce the amount of chat.

And I dislike the send to chat option as well, AO simply allows you to drop items in the chat box, its a much easier approach than a right click menu on each item.

Lastly restrict messages containing items from the general chat, limiting the \/\/TS spam in the common chat.

Knights Online had a option to set up a trade stand. Your character is stationed and click the trade stand and can view items. Such as I have this item for 100k, you can buy it while the seller is AFK.

All of the you that think that this idea is stupid and noobish are just retards! first itll save some space in the chat and second itll make trading much more easier and if its added with and Auction House system then itll make the in-game trading very easy and the new players wont ask PC for all the golds the get which is absurd right now .... and yes in WoW items have multiple stats but in GW there are much more item models so its not different , and with this addon we need a dressing room so we can see what were going put on , like in WoW( WoW has some very good things although the gave has been ruined by its developers )

Mate this type of trading system is not the best right now. Why? Couse u cant search all items which ppl are selling and if you can itll take hell of a long time . So the best is the Auction House system where you can sell even when youre logged out of the game .
