Hi, I am switching to guild wars from WoW, tired of being addicted to WoW, and I hear guild wars is a lil more laid back. Just wondering, what do I have to buy to have full enjoyment from the game. Do I just have to buy giuld wars, or do I have to buy all installments? (factions... etc...). Help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Welcome to the universe of GW my WoW refugee
. You are not limited by buying just one installment but buying more does give more content. Having more does add to the enjoyment but having less does not take away from it (at least that how i felt
)
When getting GW might i recommend Nightfall or Prophecies for a new player. Factions is a faster pace and a little harder to start with (more PvP oriented), Prophecies is great for new players (more PvE oriented) and Nightfall is the in between (PvE & PvP oriented.)

You only need 1 chapter to play the game... but the more campaigns you get, the more content you have access to. I would recommend starting with either Prophecies or Nightfall - then if you like it, buy the other one, then factions, then GW:EN (maybe).
Have fun!

I think I will go w/ nightfall... Since the pvp in WoW is dying, it is what attracted me to GW. So I think I will go with that. THanks for all the comments and help!

Good choice NF is always handy for new comers due to (heroes) they help alot with missions as once u get to the tougher ones then Hench tend to become useless, but bring em along anyways for a little extra help just make sure your first 3 spots goto your perfectly tuned heroes
Its a little difficult at first to even get your own skill bar the way you want it let alone all your heroes but once you have got the hang of it your laughing.

To clarify:
All of the first 3 games can be bought by themselves and played. They are all stand alone products. You can buy either Prophecies (since it is the first one, it is often packaged as just "Guild Wars"), Factions, OR Nightfall, and play the game.
Each game adds a new continent to the global map which your characters can then travel to.
The newest GW, Eye of the North, is an expansion, and requires you to own one of the earlier 3 products first.
