GW.EXE ate my resources (99%)

my level 13 survivor was in the Ruins of Surmia mission when I saw the outline of a new window through the game screen. I ALT TAB out to see RAID did not have enough resources to... do something. I CTTL SHIFT DELETE to open Task Manager and find GW.EXE was at 99% with everything else at 0%. Then I was not able to get back into GW but could hear fighting going on. I have yet to find out if my survivor, Eulogy One, is still a survivor.

I have Windows XP SP2, AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2GHz, 1 GB RAM

I have noticed the problem several times in the past few weeks - of getting out of GW with ALT TAB and not being able to do anything else while I hear GW still running. I suspect something in one of the new patches is causing a memory leak, has anybody else noticed memory leak sign recently?

I was under the assumption that it wasn't uncommon for GW to max CPU usage on single core processors? And that dual core split the load evenly across each core? I'm about 99.9% sure on that (unless your single core is an HT.) Did you check what your memory usage was? Has it been awhile since you rebooted your computer?

Yeah, many games running in windowed mode seem to jump straight to 99% cpu usage. GW is always on windowed mode or something.

Of course, it still doesn't stop you from launching your browser and doing some wiking.

As for your issue, I don't think it has to do with 99% cpu usage.
